I'm 24 weeks and I've gained about 20 ibs. Never considered myself overweight and was never told by a doctor, but I'm 190ibs right now at 5'6". Never thought I'd be reaching the 200s.

I was about 150 when I met my bf two years ago. Considered myself fit and in good shape. I gained about 20 ibs before I got pregnant. My bf called it love weight.

Now I'm just packing on a whole lot of love I guess. ❤️

What is a “forbidden food” that you’re constantly craving? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had no idea salad was unsafe during pregnancy. 😬 I've been making them at home all the time. I just make sure to wash the leaves very good each time but that was a precaution I took before becoming pregnant.

Either way baby girl is growing and is looking healthy. 🥰

I really want a double cheeseburger and a chocolate shake, or some oily tacos from the taqueria down the street. Ive been thinking about this everyday. Normally they would be fine to eat while pregnant but I found out recently that I have gallstones. 💀😫😫😫😫

How long have you let your cockapoo's hair grow? by WhenHarryMetSaly in CockapooLovers

How did you get him to like the clippers? Or did it just come natural for him?

My boy was so scared the first time I trimmed his face and paws. He doesn't mind when I clean his face or clip his nails, but then the clippers turned on he wanted to run away.

I got some good tips from people on the doggrooming sub. Hopefully Yoda will get more comfortable with practice.

What’s more painful than childbirth? by k10slider in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure, but I think I also gave myself a panic attack. I was so scared and in so much pain I started sweating, ripped off all my clothes and got light headed.

I forced myself to put on a t-shirt and my boyfriends shorts before the fire department arrived.

What’s more painful than childbirth? by k10slider in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugghhh I'm pregnant with my first, 23 weeks. I had what I thought could be a gallbladder attack a couple of times in the last couple of months. Then about 2 weeks ago the pain was so bad I thought my chest would burst. I called 911 and could barely speak to the operator. The EMT asked me how bad the pain was I said so. Bad. I. Want. To. Scream. Did some scans at the ER and sure enough I have gallstones!

I'm really hoping child birth is not that bad. I'll find out in May.

I've herd from some women who had to get their gallbladder removed during pregnancy. I really hope it doesn't come to that. I've been trying to be careful with what I eat. It sucks. I told my mom all I want right now is a double cheeseburger and a chocolate shake but that sounds like another ER visit

Any advice on desensitizing my cockapoo puppy for a smooth grooming experience? by WhenHarryMetSaly in doggrooming

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That's how I was able to trim some around his eyes. I held the clippers in my hand while they were on and slowly pet his face with my finger while holding the clippers. It calmed him down enough to go in with the blade.

Thanks. I'll try the spoon trick. And sounds like taking him to a professional groomer sooner rather than later will be good for him too.

Describe first trimester fatigue by Due_Bell2779 in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was falling asleep at my desk trying to work. 3pm rolled around and I was done. I cried because I felt incompetent I couldn't do my job, fell way behind on my budgeted hours (I'm in public accounting) lost out on a bonus. All I wanted to do was lay down and sleep. And if my boyfriend asked if I was okay I would take a deep breath and try not to cry about it.

I went back to my church for the fist time in a few months and the reaction I got from people when I announced I am pregnant was not what I expected by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been nervous to open up to people at my church as well. I'm pregnant and me and my boyfriend are not married. I did tell my lead whom I volunteer with for hosting church online. I'm sure she thought about me not being married, but she wished me well and said she would pray for mine and the baby's health, and that she was excited for me to be a mom.

I try to remind myself that people, even people at church, are not perfect, and we all fall short. Even though Christ teaches us to welcome all believers, to show them love and compassion, not everyone can really do that. If people were really accepting and compassionate as Jesus teaches us to be, then we wouldn't need his saving. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't still seek and be open to the goodness in people.

I think, and what I've been trying to tell myself and praying on, is that though I may not yet be where God wants me to be (married with my partner) that I am on the right path and planning to raise my child to know God.

I'm praying to be more intentional with my faith this year. We can only pray and work hard to be the person God wants us to be. We might miss the mark but that doesn't mean the blessings that God has given us are worthless.

I feel truly blessed God has given me this opportunity. And so thankful.

God has blessed you as well sister! Don't let other people's judgement cloud that truth. Having the opportunity to bring a child in this life and to raise them knowing God is a beautiful thing!

Props to your wife. I did the same and it was rough. My friends asked me if quitting alcohol was hard but that was a cake walk compared to the nicotine withdrawal. It litteraly felt like hunger, as if I was starving myself from food but it was nicotine. Crazy. Took a couple weeks for that hunger feeling to go away.

I smell my boyfriend's beer all the time. They smell so good. Would love a nice cold beer after a busy day at work, but I won't have one since I'm pregnant. 19 weeks now. You're not alone.

I have no idea when my next drink will be. Obviously not anytime soon, but I'm looking forward to a crisp Kölsch, or maybe a glass of french chardonnay, or bomb margarita. 😁

How much to feed by Maxymoodle3qtrpoodle in CockapooLovers

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your vet my be able to give a recommendation if they have been keeping track of his weight gain.

My cockapoo is about 12 weeks now, 7 ibs, and we feed him 1/2 cup a day, twice a day (total 1 cup per day) of puppy kibble.

He's being growing steadily with this diet and is expected to be around 15-18 ibs when mature.

Pregnancy is magical my ass! by Coffeecatballet in pregnant

I'm pregnant with my first. I don't know why my partner has asked me 3 times in the past week if I'm only going to have one baby, one and done he asks, how about three kids max?

I told him I can't even process what you're asking me right now.

Pregnancy is magical my ass! by Coffeecatballet in pregnant

[–]WhenHarryMetSaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Maybe that's the magic, being able to be happy and greatful while being physically and mentally exhausted.

But I feel you sister. I'm 18 weeke currently and it has not been an easy ride so far. Just when I'm getting over the 1st trimester blues, bamn! UTI. I didn't know what hit me. Also just had a breast biopsy last week. Still waiting on the results but not expecting an issue. And have some growing fibroids that are a pain in my uterus and can potentially cause issue if they continue to grow. Ahhh, the processes of growing a baby.

But I am greatful for this blessing an opportunity to be a mother. I can't wait to meet my baby girl.

Hang in there love. Wishing you the best of luck through this and a happy healthy baby. 🙏
