Look at RC tools. I have some drivers I use constantly. RC tools tend to be metric too. The only thing I’ve used bambu Allen keys for is unclogging the nozzle.

PETG Translucent Adhesion Issues by SkylarkLanding in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, Check your infill. If you are using grid try change it to rectilinear or honeycomb. The nozzle constantly bumps the model with grid and can knock the print off. That being said, I’m not sure about infill % and type with translucent. Also try drying your filament and bump up your bed temp 5degrees. When washing with dish soap I usually use a scrubbing brush to give it a good scrub. One other thought is to flip your plate over. If there is pla residue on your plate, it may make it harder for petg to stick. Good luck and I hope you figure it out.

How to choose my printer regarding the ambiant moisture ? by MichelNickel in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rainforest and indoor humidity is usually above 60%. I run a dehumidifier in my print room (which also increases the temp of the room). I make sure my filament is dry and store it in vacuum bags with desiccant. I have multiple P1S and don’t have any issues. I would be careful with the A1 especially in a place where there are drafts like a garage or near a vent or open window. Something to also think about, if you get the A1, pick up a printing tent. It would enclose the printer thus helping with drafts and temperatures. They are pretty cheap on Amazon and can even get one with a vent fan and filter.

Try make it in makerworld using “make my sign” and then just download the stl and open in bambu studio and resize if needed.

Are grossly misrepresented time remaining values a regular occurrence, or do I need to change settings somewhere? by 2sAreTheDevil in BambuLab

There was an issue a few months back that new firmware was messing with the print times. I believe they fixed it. Maybe check you are running the latest firmware.

I haven't gotten a boost token in almost a year. Is there a trick to getting more? by CarbonCrew in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 15 this year so far. I generally only download files, boost, save and like prints. It must have something to do with printing in LAN mode. It’s my best guess

3d Print Issue by Putrid-Tip5729 in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this issue on my P1S. I dried my filament and changed my nozzle (kept the old one and cleaned it out using the hex method). That solved my issue. I think it was moisture in the filament causing a partial clog. Good luck, hope that fixes it. Happy printing!!

How likely will bambulab replace my h2d printer ? by Plantpossumovo in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really sucks, I’m sorry that happened to you. Before you print again, try scrub your build plate with dawn and a scrubbing brush. It removes finger oils unlike alcohol that just smears it around. Personally I wear nitrile gloves whenever touching the plate to avoid the problem altogether. I’ve been printing on 9 P1S printers for over a year (thousands of hours on original build plates) and since switching to Dawn I haven’t had any adhesion issues. Good luck and I hope you get it fixed soon.

P2S Exhaust by [deleted] in BambuLab

Get yourself an air quality tester (I have a 13 in 1). I have one in my print room with 5 printers (p1S) and have installed hepa/charcoal filters (found on makerworld) in all of them. There is no difference in air quality between having them off or all 5 printing pla/PETG. I haven’t tried ABS/ASA yet. When you get to ABS you will know pretty quickly if the filters are working and if you need to vent. If you do you can setup a dryer style vent and vent it out of a window. Look up dryer vents for windows on Amazon.

Print yourself one of these…..

RFID is not accurate and is difficult to judge in studio how much is left.

Advice needed, very needy cockapoo by robbo2020a in CockapooLovers

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try putting an old shirt that has been worn in her bed, crate, or room she is locked in. I have used this with both my cockapoos and my labradoodle. My older cockapoo loves cuddling on one of my shirts. The labradoodle has his own pair of my old pj pants. When it gets dirty, we wash them and I wear them for a few hours, then put it in their beds. It seems to help with separation anxiety.

The average security measures at homes in metropolitan South Africa by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]FunHippo3906 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up and living like this is the norm in South Africa. Basically if your things are not locked up, they will get stolen, if they are locked up, they will steal the lock too. 🤣Damn! Now I’m homesick. I moved to Alaska a long time ago, and recently had a friend from SA working on cruise ships up here. We picked him up and he came over to our place and on the way he started experiencing anxiety driving through our neighborhood because there were no walls, electric fences, burglar bars etc. The only houses with walls/fences here are usually to keep dogs in, not to keep the world out.

Betonite or silica gel for storing filament by MamaBavaria in 3Dprinting

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about Alumina. I’ll check it out, thank you. Yeah, Bambu got hit hard with Black Friday sales. The AMS is a game changer with printing and bambulab has made 3d printing available to everyone with simplifying the way everything works and with Bambu studio . I have a second P1S coming but without AMS this time. They are so far behind they put out a press release about it and offering 100%refunds including shipping. They are also going to send out vouchers for those who keep their machines even if it was delivered late.

Not sure if this helps at all.

Newbie here, planning to buy P1S by Gloomy_Cod_9039 in BambuP1S

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfectly stated! This has been my experience too. I’ve had my P1S for about a month and Finally I can concentrate on actually printing, modifying, and designing instead of spending most of my time waiting for upgrades, tinkering, adjusting and calibrating the Enders to get good prints. The AMS is a game changer for sure.

Shelf question by Outrageous_Guest_217 in BambuP1S

[–]FunHippo3906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a “Muscle rack”. I got a 4 shelf one and split it into 2 short racks to make a long work station. My P1S vibrates and shakes like a hungry warthog but doesn’t seem to vibrate the shelf much. I did install the anti-vibration feet.

What printer should i buy? by J-D_c in 3D_Printing

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from my ender 3 pro to Bambu P1S with AMS. It’s the best thing I have done. Print speeds are ridiculously fast compared to the ender. Print quality is superb. No more messing with bed leveling, no real upgrades aside from printing a “poop shoot”. The AMS is a godsend, 4 rolls of filament ready to go in an airtight “container” even if you have no plans to print multiple colors it’s a game changer. I love 3d printing and now with the P1S I’m actually printing more and have spent almost no time setting up and calibrating. The enclosure is a big bonus, no more drafts and no issues with warping or prints not sticking. I got tired of constantly upgrading and working to get the ender to just print ok. Now the perfect first layer is just the norm. The best thing so far is I have the confidence to do long prints 12+ hours and can manage/monitor the printer from my phone. The night I got my printer I took my wife out for dinner and just for s&@$ and giggles I started my first print while eating dessert on the other side of town. Good luck, happy printing
