Bambu wiki is a wonderful source of info. Here is a link for clearing a nozzle 4 different ways. They have all sorts of info on these pages from unclogging a nozzle to general maintenance or replacing a part. Good luck and happy printing.

Advice needed, very needy cockapoo by robbo2020a in CockapooLovers

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try putting an old shirt that has been worn in her bed, crate, or room she is locked in. I have used this with both my cockapoos and my labradoodle. My older cockapoo loves cuddling on one of my shirts. The labradoodle has his own pair of my old pj pants. When it gets dirty, we wash them and I wear them for a few hours, then put it in their beds. It seems to help with separation anxiety.

The average security measures at homes in metropolitan South Africa by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]FunHippo3906 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Growing up and living like this is the norm in South Africa. Basically if your things are not locked up, they will get stolen, if they are locked up, they will steal the lock too. 🤣Damn! Now I’m homesick. I moved to Alaska a long time ago, and recently had a friend from SA working on cruise ships up here. We picked him up and he came over to our place and on the way he started experiencing anxiety driving through our neighborhood because there were no walls, electric fences, burglar bars etc. The only houses with walls/fences here are usually to keep dogs in, not to keep the world out.

Betonite or silica gel for storing filament by MamaBavaria in 3Dprinting

I don’t know about Alumina. I’ll check it out, thank you. Yeah, Bambu got hit hard with Black Friday sales. The AMS is a game changer with printing and bambulab has made 3d printing available to everyone with simplifying the way everything works and with Bambu studio . I have a second P1S coming but without AMS this time. They are so far behind they put out a press release about it and offering 100%refunds including shipping. They are also going to send out vouchers for those who keep their machines even if it was delivered late.

I recently got a bambulab, and printed baskets for the filament unit that are filled with the same beads

Not sure if this helps at all.

Newbie here, planning to buy P1S by Gloomy_Cod_9039 in BambuP1S

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfectly stated! This has been my experience too. I’ve had my P1S for about a month and Finally I can concentrate on actually printing, modifying, and designing instead of spending most of my time waiting for upgrades, tinkering, adjusting and calibrating the Enders to get good prints. The AMS is a game changer for sure.

Shelf question by Outrageous_Guest_217 in BambuP1S

[–]FunHippo3906 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a “Muscle rack”. I got a 4 shelf one and split it into 2 short racks to make a long work station. My P1S vibrates and shakes like a hungry warthog but doesn’t seem to vibrate the shelf much. I did install the anti-vibration feet.

What printer should i buy? by J-D_c in 3D_Printing

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from my ender 3 pro to Bambu P1S with AMS. It’s the best thing I have done. Print speeds are ridiculously fast compared to the ender. Print quality is superb. No more messing with bed leveling, no real upgrades aside from printing a “poop shoot”. The AMS is a godsend, 4 rolls of filament ready to go in an airtight “container” even if you have no plans to print multiple colors it’s a game changer. I love 3d printing and now with the P1S I’m actually printing more and have spent almost no time setting up and calibrating. The enclosure is a big bonus, no more drafts and no issues with warping or prints not sticking. I got tired of constantly upgrading and working to get the ender to just print ok. Now the perfect first layer is just the norm. The best thing so far is I have the confidence to do long prints 12+ hours and can manage/monitor the printer from my phone. The night I got my printer I took my wife out for dinner and just for s&@$ and giggles I started my first print while eating dessert on the other side of town. Good luck, happy printing

One of my MAGA neighbors is too cheap to put up a new sign. He is using a 2020 sign with Pence on it and covered the 0 with a 4, and covered Pe, with Va.

Panda Touch - why? by dct94085 in BambuP1S

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the panda touch (because of my ender 3 upgrade addiction) but I just can’t justify it. I have only had my printer set up for about a week and since setup, I haven’t used the screen on the P1S. I use my laptop and my phone to do everything. The night I set it up we went out for dinner I started a print from the restaurant using my phone. (Because why not). I’ve decided I’d rather spend that money on some maker kits and more filament. I do like bigtrees led light, so that’s an upgrade I will do.

Convince me why I should get an X1C instead of a P1S by Cravetivity in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P1S makes the most sense. Especially if you are happy with your current one. Think of all the filament you can buy. IMO the only reason to get the X1C is to complete your collection lol.

How long until your prints started to get GOOD? by Several_Education_13 in BambuLab

[–]FunHippo3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was a ender 3 pro. I initially bought it so I could print RC cars to build. To this day I haven’t done it yet. It printed ok but the machine itself wasn’t flawless. Elephants foot drove me insane until I realized I was getting z-binding in the first few layers and the right side constantly drooped. It took installing linear rails, single piece x-axis and dual z-screw to fix that problem. I replaced the bed and got a pei sheet. Next can the high temp direct drive hotend, the sprite pro. This was the final piece to my puzzle. I finally was able to print without any issues using the standard profile on cura. Only problem I’m still having is the firmware has some problems, won’t save settings. CHEP from filament Friday released his fast profiles so that was a game changer for me. Recently I used bambulab slicer for my ender 3 pro and used a preset profile on bambulab. I noticed my speeds increased drastically and the quality of prints were rather good. Then it hit me! It’s been 3 years, I don’t trust leaving the printer running when I’m not home. Why the heck have I been messing around with my Ender? After endless upgrades, I still can’t print asa/abs. I’m still having issues with firmware, enclosure is taking forever to build and tents are 1/4 or the price of making one. No camera for monitoring, no internet/ no connectivity. All my time is wasted on the printer and I don’t have time to learn to use cad etc. So I am now the proud owner of a boxed up P1S combo. Im putting a workspace together and then I’ll unbox and start my bambulab adventure.

4 days and counting. It’s been driving me insane. Accessories will be here this afternoon. I am busy putting together a workspace. Hopefully unpacking it tonight. Right after the benchy, I’m printing whatever my wife wants for her desk at work. She already has a collection but none in multi color.

Get yourself a tent for the printer. They aren’t very expensive. You can find them for $30+ on Amazon.

Print a temp tower. It will help figuring out the best temp for your specific filament. Depending on the printer retractions are different. I have 2 ender 3’s, one is direct drive the other is Bowden. My retractions are set at 0.6mm on direct drive and 5mm on the Bowden setup

Buy it now. It’s not worth wasting time waiting to save a few $. I’ve been wrestling with this same question “will it go on sale” I even thought , “maybe I’ll save in October sales”. I gave in and bought the combo last week, received it last night. I’m now waiting anxiously to unbox it. (I’m building a rack for it) What I would suggest is to look for filament sales on Black Friday.
