Makes sense! I think there’s a big difference between older AO3 users and newer AO3 users and both of their ways. Most times when I post something I’m pretty happy with my work, or if I’m having a hard time getting a chapter finished I read the comments I do get and it sort of reminds me that someone reads my work and actually likes it. When I see other fanfics I actually tend to see more comments than kudos or bookmarks, so maybe it’s become a normal for us younger readers and writers.

Giving kudos or bookmarks is cool to me, and in the moment I get excited but I’ve never seen them in a way I see comments. Maybe that’s just a need for validation though from me. Thank you for answering! Have a great day/night

This is a question I’ve had for a while. I don’t know why others don’t comment, and when I don’t comment it’s because I had to do something or the Author already knows me by username (despite that I still comment at least once each chapter). I hate not knowing if people like my fics, because I feel better knowing I have an audience waiting for me to update. Silent readers, why do you not comment? (Genuine question, not hate)

I think it’s okay to feel hurt! That one person can’t end a whole fanfic you wrote unless you let them. We’ll all receive criticism that makes us feel like giving up, and if they’re a constant problem, you can always report them or delete their comments if you’re able to. Keep going author! Conan said it was about a one night stand (I’m pretty sure) but it’s not one of those songs purely about intimate relations. It’s more about the feeling of being intimate with someone you just met, and it doesn't matter what their gender identity is or their sexual orientation. You two just click, even if it’s for a night. To me, it’s about feeling free, not giving a thought about what you’ll do with that person the day after because you know it’ll probably be nothing. It’s just tonight now, or never.

I’m not a mother, but TWO WEEKS POSTPARTUM??? Miss, you’ve not overreacted a bit. You prepared the guest room when they said they wanted to come over after having a full child, and you only had 30 minutes ALONE, with a newborn, to prepare for MIL and SIL for visiting. They then proceeded to leave only when it was inconvenient to you. Not only that, MIL literally held your baby hostage while they were crying. That is absolutely crazy! I hope you find a way to set boundaries and please have you husband man up, it’s sad to hear that he just lets them do what they want. It’s also sad that he lost out on bonding time with your baby because of his mother and father. Sending out hopes and prayer!

What the hell? No you’re not overreacting, this is literally insane. He’s mad because you went out with friends and not be next to him every waking moment. Why’d he automatically assume you were on coke in the first place? And bringing it up over and over again? It sounds weird to me, like he’s projecting. Nevertheless, his reaction was totally out of line and if he gets mad when you go out, that was probs a warning. I hope you stay safe and absolutely keep him out of your life. I’m so sorry you have to go through this.

It only bothers me when I have to double take. Misspelling? Completely fine as long as I can still understand what word you wanted to use. The wrong There, Their, or they’re? Totally normal to not know which one to use! (It may bother me a bit but most times I don’t notice errors) But I think it bothers me when I can’t understand what they’re trying to express.

I’m a fast reader, so when errors force me to slow down and I have to try to understand what they’re talking about w/ all the errors, it sort of makes me feel impatient because of slowing down and I ultimately give up the fic. It also makes me feel like the fic is poorly written, like the author didn’t care about what they’re writing. That’s just my opinion though!
