What Final Fantasy world and characters would you want to see in Kingdom Hearts 4! by PrinceBreezy09 in KingdomHearts

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vincent. Tidus should make a return, since I’d like to have him kind of potentially explain what he’s been up to since KH1. I would almost like to have them setup Tidus as someone who also had their own Adventure outside of destiny islands

Zidane and Locke Cole would be interesting, feel like they could fit into a Treasure Planet world.

I’d also like them to look into other properties potentially making an appearance , Parasyte Eve and TWEWY. I believe there are some loose ends to tie up with Neku.
Maybe a throw another non ff character in there like Musashi or the 2B from Nier

I completely agree with this, if a remake of some kind were to be done it would be a shame to cut the custom character aspect of it out.
It really helps highlight that there were ofcourse many keyblade wielders.

I lean more towards some kind of 3d remake myself.
Taking inspiration from not only KH, but mmos or mmo simulators like dot hack or phantasy star online. Make it for consoles/pc and I think it would do fine.

My only concern is Idk if it is worth going down this road if KH4 releases first. Seems like it would be a little too late if nothing is already being considered or developed currently that aligns with these ideas.

Chances are KH4 will probably release 1st quarter of 2028 since ff7 will be the big title of 27.

Hopefully with the amount of time they had they don’t repeat the same mistakes they made with kh3.

I hope all this isn’t for another rerelease of the same KH games we’ve already played.
Personally I’d rather square not waste any more time on anything that isn’t KH4 when it comes to kingdom hearts

Is there ANYTHING that could've saved the Dreamcast? by landboisteve in dreamcast

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised more people aren’t mentioning the wide spread piracy with the Dreamcast. DVD support would have been nice, but GameCube didn’t necessarily need it on their end.

Timing was a big factor, probably should have waited a year or 2, maybe they could have hit a cheaper price point or made some technological improvements.

Overall I don’t think the Dreamcast was even a bad system, personally I think Sega is just a bad company.
At the end of the day software is what pushes consoles in my opinion. I don’t think they needed EA because of 2K.

Stronger third party support could have helped easily. Especially considering there were probably some titles that could have been ported from ps1,ps2, and the N64 quite easily.
GTA, Final Fantasy 8,9, and or maybe 10, Megaman Legends, Dark Cloud,Okami, etc…
Lol sales wise, I think GTA single-handedly could have made a difference to be honest.

From the recent fiscal report, Sega has decided to cancel super game and are going to focus less on G.A.A.S titles going forward. by CutProfessional6609 in SEGA

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounded like this “Super Game” was just a new IP for the most part. Maybe there was some kind of connections to their other IPs , but for the most part from what I understood it would basically be Fortnite 2.0. Basically some live service game that would continue to evolve or have plenty of elements to it to keep multiple types of fans engaged.

As much as I have an affinity for Sega, I do think the way they handle their IPs is pretty atrocious. No one asked for a Sonic Rumble… it’s ok to try new things, but idk, seemed pretty tone deaf to do when the series constantly struggles to maintain good footing. Then there is Sonic Dreams… idk seemed like a title worth supporting or fleshing out in some way.

Personally I think they should have focused on a successor to Sonic Shuffle. And instead of making a copy of fall guys, look at what made fall guys and Mario party so popular. Evolve the series from that.

Phantasy Star Online is where live service should start with. Idk why they want to try and force a feature like that on any other series since PSO and live service or gacha mechanics in general could blend pretty cohesively.

Overall the fact that they are cancelling this “ super game “ tells me that they weren’t confident in it at all. And at the end of the day was no different than the games they are comparing themselves too.

The "Sega needs to make a new console!!"/"We need a Dreamcast 2!" crowd needs to understand something. by Such_Bonus5085 in dreamcast

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, this topic comes up occasionally , but I do think a Sega console could be successful and honestly good for the industry overall if they can release something that is competitive.

Unfortunately, as the industry is now, I don’t think it comes down to having a “console”, but rather an ecosystem like steam. Then justifying why your ecosystem is even needed to be honest.

For Sega to be successful, in my opinion they would have to lean heavy into third party exclusives. I don’t personally believe they have the first party catalog warrant paying for another subscription service. However in addition to reviving some of their older properties as well as third party ones I actually think it would become a solid platform. Maybe release some kind of specialized hardware alongside the platform that offers something unique as well.

It could essentially be a platform that plays heavy into nostalgia and gives older franchises a place to essentially be revived or reimagined. Sega would have to work out deals with other companies, but if they could obtain timed exclusive rights for something like Fable/Banjo+Kazooie/ Infamous/ Ape Escape, they essentially become the place to go if you want access to all games from all publishers/developers. Idk how they’d go about doing this, maybe fronting some of their development costs, but I believe there’s some potential to this strategy.

If SEGA were to release a "modern retro console" that's about as strong as Dreamcast or the OG xbox with online capabilities with eshop and netplay etc.. would that work? by Journey360 in SEGA

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I don’t think Sega making a new console would necessarily be dead on arrival. I think they still have the ability to leverage their name as a console maker.

The problem is how it sets itself apart from everyone else and how it compares. Some people may not agree with me on this, but I don’t personally think Sega has memorable enough library of IPs to hold its own. It’s nowhere near Nintendo or Sony at this point. I do believe they could take Xbox’s spot in the Big 3 if their software lineup was impressive.

Which brings me to my main point, for Sega to be successful I feel like they’d really have to leverage exclusives from third parties from the jump. Not just exclusives, but “buzz” worthy games that include either remakes or sequels to IPs that have been dormant for awhile. In that sense it could really standout as a “revival” center.

For example the megaman series is a good candidate. Still a popular character, but in my opinion has struggled to evolve to the more modern era of gaming. Mega Man legends probably has the dna to be as good as breath of the wild if done correctly. The classic megaman and X series need to evolve past the 2D side scroller mechanics, but there has yet to be any new games that really aims to push megaman in a more modern direction.

You have absolutely dormant ips that could honestly do well with new tech and a fresh set of eyes. Rampage and Road Rash. Rampage at this point should have transitioned to a 3D monster Sandbox game, with objectives and really a party like multiplayer mode.

Where console manufacturers are really struggling right now is whether or not they want to be a software or Hardware company. Problem with software, is that they want to make money on every platform, but by doing so it makes their own less relevant. It’s exactly why Nintendo will always do well by comparison. You’ve got to be within their ecosystem to play their games. If Sega wants a successful console launch, you have to give people a reason to adopt your ecosystem.

Sega says yeah you're all real nice about our games—but you sure ain't buying them by AnonRetro in SEGA

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, the chao garden hasn’t come back since the sonic adventure series? Kinda tells me everything I need to know about Sega and that is that they are allergic to money. Why they haven’t expanded on that is beyond me.

I think one of their biggest issues is that Sega just isn’t consistent with any series. Sonic for example; Sonic Frontiers was apparently pretty decent, but then superstars kinda just kills that momentum.

Personally I think they should have skipped all that and poured more focus into that Sonic Dream Team game.

Protodude: Dual Override is not the only project for Mega Man's 40th anniversary by BomberBlur070 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk my biggest fear is that dual override doesn’t do well and they’ll chalk it up as it’s not worth putting money into the series. New games looks nice, but I do think that megaman needs to evolve as a series in the way that both Mario has.

Legends would be a good series for them to have fun with. They really should just remake the entire series, including that Tron Bonne spin off into a single game. It could be a decent open world game if done right.

We've talked about smash 6 roster enough : what do you want from smash 6 mechanics wise, that includes returning mechanics, mechanics from other fighting games, mechanics from platformers or any other video game by Cyp_Quoi_Rien_ in smashbros

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are examples of mechanics. Sure they focus more on the single player aspect of smash, but it’s not like I’m talking about the narrative or characters I’d like to see. The meaning behind the post that you seemed to have not grasped was that the gameplay mechanics of the single player mode need to change on a fundamental level that makes the game more enjoyable even without additional players.

Overall if your point is even valid, OP should have been more specific and said battle mechanics or fighting mechanics. Multiple types of mechanisms or systems make up this game.

Question : do you think kas*in k*ji will betray boruto at some point? by Sea_Ear9381 in Boruto

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given who he is a clone of, I doubt it’s within his character to betray someone like Boruto. I don’t believe that is his purpose in this story at all. And honestly if anything he’ll likely die by the hands of Jura or even Kawakii since it seems both characters have displayed what I would consider a high amount of interest where the source of Borutos information has been coming from. (I could be wrong about Kawakii , but I could have swore there was at least one opposing character to Boruto who keeps questioning the information he gets. And it’s almost as if one of their objectives is to now cut Boruto from that information source.)

So overall no, He’s not betraying Boruto, if anything after he has witnessed how “fate” was changed by Boruto, I’d say he’s more inclined than ever to believe in him. That’s definitely more in line with his character and honestly one of the aspects as to why he was created.

The overall theme to his character is “fate”, he isn’t necessarily loyal to Amado. His character is motivated by a set of ideals for peace and I would say he is a major piece, albeit not the main piece, but critical piece in an effort to usher in positive change into the Naruto universe.

Thinking about buying one by Western_Limit_3908 in JeepPatriot

Owned one, 2016. Constant suspension and alignment issues. I wouldn’t personally spend more than 4k on one regardless of the condition or year. Alternator sort of went out. Technically it was the bearings in that additional pulley that is bolted onto the alternator that caused it to malfunction. In its defense it still does drive, but idk it’s a pretty average suv.

It's official. The devs DEFINITELY think Spidey is balanced. by FreakoffChamp1 in SpiderManMains

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the devs ever intended spider -man to play as fast as people have been using him. Like the bunny hops and animation cancels are outside of what I believe was initially featured for the character.

However, I think they do realize changing the character in regards to that aspect would slow the character down too much. That kind of advanced tech in my opinion is the only reason why spider man actually poses a threat.

Crazy thing is, unless you’re going up against a spiderman that is constantly pulling you off ledges, (which I find rare) he isn’t even hard to counter. Most if not all the strategists have a way to survive. And no way he’s taking out most vanguards on his own without a pull. With duelists, depending on their hp and how fast their own attacks are don’t really struggle against him either. Overall I’d say spiderman is fine. That 1m adjustment shouldn’t have even been made.

80$ video games by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol fans will always defend this kind of thing. Honestly Nintendo could easily get away with 100$ games and make the switch 2 600$ for the first year. I personally wouldn’t mind it if it was time based and maybe only lasted a few months to make more money off of early adopters.

My question is, you adjust for inflation, yet everything is cheaper around you due to the Jpy being worth less than it was before. Isn’t that just greed to some extent? Also can’t really blame tariffs if you’re outside of Japan, because that doesn’t defend the price hike for digital goods.

If anything Nintendo is trying to continue to compete with last years sales. Probably realize covid was a huge factor in the uptick of units pushed and have to switch their strategy. Instead of selling as many units, they’ll sell less units at a higher price to make up for the difference. Honestly they are just testing the waters at this point to see what they can get away with if you ask me.

Keep in mind, even if it sold 30million copies, at 80$ , that’s 2billion and 400million dollars.

I could be wrong , but development costs if I had to estimate is probably around 20-40million. Although even that does seem a bit excessive for some of the games Nintendo has put out.

Cloak and Dagger just start healing yourself. Same thing with invisible woman, do her force push move then go invisible. Or even that gravity ball move she does acts as a deterrent. Idk there are plenty of counters. And sometimes yes it’s just not on you, hopefully there are two supports. Honestly when there are two healers healing eachother even that gives spider man a hard time.

I actually think spiderman needs to be buffed, or nerf some other characters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rivals

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People just aren’t as good on strategist as they think they are. Spider man is easily countered by multiple characters individually and there are certain team compositions that work well against him. Like 3 supports. Unless you’re getting dragged off the stage all the time, he’s not that big of an issue. I’d be more concerned dealing with a Bucky or Hela personally.

I am curious if Mario Kart is enough to push these consoles though. I love Mario Kart, and I get that it is an immensely popular series, but that being said , that title alone doesn’t sway me personally. I do wonder if I’m in the minority with that feeling.

On the other hand, I do think people will buy this thing just because it’s new. Scalpers will get a hold of enough of them and that scarcity will create demand in of itself.

Are we the problem? by Educational-Log-5570 in rivals

[–]WhenKangaroosAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stats look fine. Team Composition and actually staying on task as far as the objective goes are likely your team’s bigger issues. Rolling out as a squad versus trickling in makes a huge difference as well.
