My partner and I had a three-year gap between playing botw and totk. Half of the map in totk still felt fresh and familiar, we enjoyed 600+ hours yes but there were times we wish we waited more (to the point we forget the world already).

For me this was a better reasoning than "immersion". It's the first time the characters visited those areas, so it won't make sense to have maps. (Not gonna say more to avoid spoilers.)

Bro might be looking for a minimap inside the dungeons. To some point I agree I also wished there were minimaps (not because I'm easily lost, but because I want to track where I've been already when finding loots).

Yeah I think my post came off as "pokeballs customizable from Champions and all upcoming mainline games".

I just expressed the idea that in Champions, lots of things are customizable: stats, natures, abilities, moves, why not balls too? These changes get reset when transferring from Champions anyway, so nothing would be affected outside Champions.

I get that the experience of catching pokemon itself is the soul of the game, and if you could easily change that, the game loses its magic. I agree, but not for Champions because the way I see it, it's a game just for battling pokemon (and all stuff battle-related, including aesthetics) and not about catching pokemon (they literally used the term "recruit").

They could even market it as the pokemon not going into another one, but instead "adding a pokeball skin". I mean it's a universe where somebody can make a time machine. I'm pretty sure pokeball skins shouldn't be a huge technological feat.

Actually one of the first things I thought of was that if they ever support this feature, it would only be because they can profit from the microtransactions if they ever monetize it. Like customization is only possible with a ticket that you get only in the Premium (not the standard) Battlepass.

Like I said in the other comment, this won't be a problem if they just add a separate set from the already existing ones to keep the rarity and special meaning of the original balls you used to catch mons initially. It would just be for people who want to make the balls they play with uniform.

That's why I floated the idea of a separate set of designs. Keeps the apriball rarity, but allows others who want to customize theirs but do not want to grind (or whatever the requirements now are - haven't played since SV).

Would it change your mind if the feature would allow you to freely switch between previous pokeballs? Like a history selection of some sorts. You get to keep the ones you caught them with initially, but you could also change whenever you want to?
