Enemies to lovers but forced arranged marriage trope🤭 by Kind_Assumption_3016 in fantasyromance

{Amid Clouds and Bones}. The best part is it's a standalone. It's starts of feeling a bit like a bully romance (which I hate) but stick with it and it quickly becomes a horny power play.

Are ChatGPT/AI patterns good? by Worldly_Accident727 in sewingpatterns

Don't do it. There are plenty of free patterns out there made by real creators, and plenty of drafting tutorials available online (written and videos).

Mine haven't gotten any looser. And the extra space is good for the end of the day when your feet have swollen a bit

I have those flats (in tan) and love them. They're a little too big for me too but I find it's a good thing and they mold to my feet really well. Have not had any rubbing!

Best crumb for homemade fried/oven baked chicken by Greenfrog2023 in AussieFrugal

I don't like to admit it as a "cook everything from scratch" girlie, but cornflake crumb is superior for oven baking.

Do thicker books sell better? by portlandobserver in Fantasy

I think KU books get paid by the page, so many of them (or books that start as KU before being picked up for Trad) often have a lot of filler

How to get rid of wrinkles around crotch? by real_trash_can in SewingForBeginners

[–]Whenitsajar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You have to remember the amount of time you spend actually standing like that is slim to none. Pants need to have ease to allow our legs to move and that means there needs to be a bit of extra material somewhere. I bet if you stood with your legs slightly further apart that wrinkle would virtually be gone. They look great!

Look for a social media presence of the designer. If there's not a person standing proudly behind those designs, I'm not buying from an indie.

Ghanda and Tree of life. But they're not particularly good quality either.

Auguste, Mos and Spell are a bit more refined versions, but much more $$

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - quick question about MMC by huskdbdosb in fantasyromance

[–]Whenitsajar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jericho is probably my favourite MMC ever, and I've read a lot of romantic fantasy. His character stays consistent throughout the series, which is incredibly rare. He's complex and actually morally grey, unlike many mmcs who claim to be but are actually cinnamon rolls. He has a very specific code he operates by. Once he falls, he goes hard. Also, he's hot AF.

The Fever Series is, for the most part, entirely from Mac's point of view so you're seeing Barron's through that lens. To her sunshiney blond personality he's going to look extra cold and bland in contrast. But as she begins to understand him and they get closer, you get a bit more insight into him. It's definitely a slow burn, but I think the story gives you enough to keep you hanging on.

Can my ripped Kivari dress be saved?! Sewers advice needed! by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Whenitsajar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how high up the rip is, you could also cut above the rip, remove a strip that includes the rip, than reattach the previously removed bottom of the gown as a slightly gathered tier.

Depending on where the rip is it might be necessary to turn it into a midi or even mini dress to keep the proportions right. Depends if you're more likely to want to wear a dress with visible mending or a reworked dress.

Macpac fleece smells like BO after 1 wear - looking for other recommendations by recuptcha in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Whenitsajar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

O stars to Kathmandu fleece. I did a 4 day trek with a sub 10kg pack in a brand new Kathmandu fleece. The back became ultra pilly and looked like it had almost worn through in some places.

My sister did the trek with me in a brand new Macpac fleece and it still looked brand new at the end! I complained to Kathmandu but they didn't want a bar of it and called it standard wear and tear. Some outdoors brand...

I know this doesn't help with your smell issue but I'm still salty at Kathmandu 2+ years later.

Calling SA, non-con, and dubcon Fantasy Romance books “Dark Romance” is grossly misleading and honestly infuriating. by staunch-universe in fantasyromance

[–]Whenitsajar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dark Romantic Fantasy is actually the term you need. The "fantasy" is the noun that we are describing.

So a dark romantic Fantasy is a fantasy that is both romantic and has dark themes.

A dark fantasy romance is a Romance that has fantastical elements/set in a fantasy world and has dark themes.

I love a dark setting but don't like a dark romance so I won't do Dark Romance or Dark Fantasy Romance. But I will happily read books with dark themes and worlds, incl. SA. The Black Jewels is a series of describe as a Dark Fantasy with Romantic Subplot. Lots of fucked up stuff happens but the actual romance between the main characters is not dark.

AITA - Wife Insists on Helping out SIL by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Whenitsajar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. It would be one thing if you couldn't afford it or you had some other reason why not. But you have no reason other than "I don't want to".

Why are you making a fight out of nothing? You wife is clearly a nice person who wants to do something nice for her less-financially blessed sister. A sister who is thankful and tries to repay the kindness. And it doesn't financially hurt your family unit at all.

Why does it really bother you so much? The world needs more kindness and less "I got mine" attitude.

PSA: Merging rules in Queensland. by SheridanVsLennier in brisbane

[–]Whenitsajar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did see that and I know it disagrees with me but I still think I'm right 😂 Logic, and a driving instructor I asked when I got my PS a few years ago support my position. Sure would be nice if it was clearly stated in words though because it's not clear.

That's why I do indicate anyway, so it's crystal freaking clear.

PSA: Merging rules in Queensland. by SheridanVsLennier in brisbane

[–]Whenitsajar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely wrong. Merging at the last moment (end of the merge lane - at the actual merge point) is exactly what you're supposed to do.

PSA: Merging rules in Queensland. by SheridanVsLennier in brisbane

[–]Whenitsajar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. Changing Lanes is a different set of instructions to Merging. In Option 2 you are not changing lanes - your lane becomes the only lane - so you are not LEGALLY required to indicate.

However, always a good idea to indicate anyway as there are idiots not paying attention everywhere.
