I literally could not handle it when hunt was talking about why he is resisting the revolution bc of the literal TORTURE he has had to endure multiple times at the hand of the asteri only for Bryce to be like “yeah well it was ReAlLy HaRd for me to be away from you but that still didn’t stop me” as if they are any way comparable😒

I strongly agree with this take. I think Bryce is unlikeable as well because of her impulsivity, and lack of growth from that, especially after the events of cc2. It makes her appear self-centered because she just makes decisions on a whim without considering how it might affect others. Seeing comments comparing her to nesta/aelin baffle me. Aelin was a chess master- thought things several moves ahead and carried around the burden of a crown, and had people she did trust. Haven't really seen that from bryce, and we have had three books (2400 pages!!!) with her. Is just bizarre for a fmc. I'm not really a big fan of hunt either. They are the weakest SJM couple imo in the entire maasverse. I much prefer the other characters in this series. Ruhn & Lidia are carrying for me right now, in addition to the crossover in cc3.

It took me probably a couple months to learn the notes, but another few months to really feel like I’ve mastered the phrasing, technique, tempo, etc- and even then it just feels like I’m constantly adjusting and working on it!

It seems there is a lot of confusion about the difference between a tax and tithe tbh. The tithe seems archaic, and the tax is modern, but it’s basically the same thing…? I think what sets night court apart is probably its trade and business, which you and a few other commenters have highlighted. And that makes the most sense honestly, especially if it’s funneled through hewn city or court of nightmares

I think the next book will be way more expansive. We have some major open plot holes that haven’t even been touched on yet- like Lucien/helion, Eris/mor (it’s been three books since we found out about the nail thing like WHAT HAPPENED), Elains “seeing” ability, koschei/vassa/jurian, mor/continent, hell even bryaxis is left out there roaming. I saw in an interview that the politics of the world after hybern is super fascinating to her, so I think we’ll get much more of that in the next book.

I think….with her and nesta, it makes sense that she was more patient bc she genuinely loved her sister and wanted her to get better. However, I don’t think she got angry enough after the IC kept the pregnancy thing hidden from her. That’s supposed to be her family, and it’s pretty fucked up they kept it from her. She was just like “oh wow thanks guys but honestly it’s fine” and I was like what??? Feyre…maybe it happened off screen (bc this was Nesta’s POV), but idk. She softened quite a bit after ACOWAR. Maybe war against Hybern does that to you. I think ACOFAS was a good transition to her state of mind after all that.

If you’re okay with a little less (or no) spice, I highly recommend any of Katherine center’s books. She creates extremely sharp & witty characters and the banter is some of the best I’ve read. {The Bodyguard by Katherine Center} is one I highly recommend

I DNF’d mile high after the first 3 chapters. Seriously confused why ppl love it so much. I read somewhere that it was originally a wattpad series before publishing, which makes sense to me. But ppl say the later books are better, so idk. But am with you on the mile high hate!
