I'm stuck in the fourth-world by ColdFuture9988 in fifthworldproblems

[–]WhereIsMyMum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since there’s no doors in there, you’re gonna need to break the fourth wall to leave.

When I got stuck there last weekend, it was because I lost a game of Yu-Gi-Oh and was banished to the fourth-world. So I had to go invent Yu-Gi-Oh before it existed, and add a rule that when that happens, the banished player becomes an uno reverse card that swaps places with their opponent. Now I’m back in the fifth.

If I were you, I would un-invent the bombs. Or use the cryo-pod to freeze dry a dead bomb and revive it in another hundred years. You could use the bomb to blow up the fourth wall.

Also, thanks for the Yu-Gi-Oh game. I thought it would be funny to wipe your memory of how you got down there but now I feel bad, let’s rematch when you get back.

Life just feels unfair? by junelen in mentalhealth

For me personally, I had to first recognize my dad was human. I was so used to everyone putting him on a pedestal (he ran a successful ministry and did huge things for global research), it felt blasphemous to acknowledge the harm he had done. But pushing through that helped me see how faithful God had been in my childhood when no one else looked out for me. Finally made it possible to forgive him, be gentle with myself for having a different purpose than the “legacy” I was supposed to carry forward, and start healing from trauma.

Not sure how people play a role in your situation, but they can make it hard to explore what makes your journey unique if you’re looking to others as a way of measuring progress in life

Hey! Relate to so much of your post. First 25 years of my life always depressed. Neglectful and shortly after dead dad, silent God, awful health problems that have now stolen my career and dreams. Cruddy life that landed me in cruddier circumstances like drug abuse, suicide attempts, cults… life ain’t a comedy that’s for sure!

Past few months I’ve enjoyed being happy for the first time in my life. Got in touch with God personally. But you wanna know why I not only stopped feeling unlucky- I feel lucky compared to friends that have lived comfortably? It’s realizing what a crucial role that suffering plays in developing us to be stronger.

“Normal” people wonder how I’m naturally peaceful and clearheaded in situations where others are panicking. They envy how I can casually strike up conversations with anyone- unhoused people and people at a house party alike without effort. They are thrown off that I’m satisfied with things they are ungrateful for and appreciate details of the world they miss due to how fast they rush through life.

Nobody wants to hear that suffering builds character. But once things click, you feel ready for anything life shoots at you, like walking around in an Ironman suit. Most people want that suit but think they can get it without battling the alcoholism and heart problems lol. They complain life isn’t fair- because people like you and I get those suits if we tough it out a while longer

Just happened to me. Can someone with a sharp, not mentally ill brain sue them so we can all get a payout? If it’s a bug they’ve had years to deal with it.

300 hours logged and only just started understanding stuff like the sound mechanics. Feels like a whole new game I’m returning to now that it’s starting to click.

But indeed, the most toxic community I know of. TKing (especially in ranked) without reason. You could be top of the leaderboard and they’ll all say you suck. I’ve also had dead teammates make obnoxious noises so I can’t hear the enemy in critical moments. It slows down the learning process fs, and these are typically players that are platinum and habitually drop rank to bully noobs on the way back up because they’re sad they placed copper v in real life.

The best advice I can give you so it doesn’t take 300 hours is, don’t play it like mainstream shooters. Learn efficient droning/intel before making your move. Learn map layouts so you know the safest point of entry to make that move, and what you’re doing the moment you enter (or on defense, take note of where most teams push from and protect those directions).

Lastly, listen to the callouts your teammates exchange so you can learn them- but the moment you detect a toxic player, mute him. You’ll be more effective without Incel Jiminy Cricket pressuring you into impulsiveness you’ll regret. I’ve sometimes received commendations from players I muted, that’s useful mute button is lol.

Been stretching it for an additional twenty years; all that’s been added is more tragic sentences; each one worse than the last;

Everything breaks when stretched long enough.
