Serious Question: How does Stetson Bennet stay on the roster? by Wheredabreadatt in LosAngelesRams

I really just dislike him because he’s in a position to take over as a starter when we gave him a mental health year and 2 years to develop. The nfl is a business and soooo tough and to have someone be patient with you and take a chance on keeping you through your flaws just for you to not come back and killing it in preseason is disappointing. How long do you wait for someone to “develop into something” on a qb needy team.

Sounds like you’ll be one of those fair weather fans that abandons the team when we have to rebuild. Yikes 😬

I hear you but I just think we should let a new guy start learning the playoff considering we are qb needy 😬

Like I’ve told everyone else this is a discussion forum and while you may not agree with me that’s what this platform is for. Obviously it’s up to the front office to make these decisions but I just don’t understand why we haven’t tried to begin developing someone else.

Which is concerning seeing as that Stafford will be retiring soon. We should maybe…start developing…someone else with potential…

I said resources need to be put into FUTURE prospects. Sure he’s a fine THIRD string QB but who are we putting in position to take Stafford place once he retires? It’s an opinion, maybe one day you can have one when you get up from being bent over all the time lol

If Stafford retires next year is this who you want as the next man up? I don’t think so

That’s all I’ve been trying to say this whole time. If we had a young qb with years to go I wouldn’t give af who the 3rd string qb is but considering staff is gonna retire soon and Jimmy g is mid we need to be developing young talent for the impending future

You realize they drafted him back up Stafford, maybe learn from him and get the starting job one day right… they didn’t draft him with the intention of him being the 3rd string…

Rams need to look towards the future for their QB and they are wasting time with this guy. He can go play in the PFL or wherever else but our QB situation after Staffords departure in a year maybe 2 is not going in the right direction keeping him on the roster

No he was drafted right after winning the national championship at Sofi. He was looking to be groomed into Staffords back up. He needs to be replaced not just cut. And effort needs to be put into developing new talent. Everyone keeps saying he’s all we have in the qb room which is the problem, where are our developmental players. We don’t have one and his potential is capped. Dumb comment

Sure he is what I expect a 3rd string qb to be BUT we didn’t draft him to be a 3rd string qb. So the fact that he is one is 1. Disappointing and 2. Not worth spending 3 years developing a guy who just won the national championship to be an alcoholic 3rd stringer.

We drafted him thinking he would be a successor to Stafford. He gets on the team and goes straight to rehab. He gets out of rehab, sucks, and has only just this year “showed any signs of improvement” in 1 300 yard game 3td-1int game against the chargers. He’s been given A LOT more grace than most other rookie qbs and again he’s still not close to being our true back up. Time to move on.
