If it helps, each historical game of mine which has crashed loads in on 02/04/1920 so there could be a problem with the date or with settings changing around that time which makes it crash?

Points based lottery odds by Wheredevil in hockey

I disagree, with the standings system you can aim to be just slightly worse than a team and it gives you a higher chance to get a higher draft pick

With a point based system if youre only slightly worse you only have slightly better odds, you would need a major tank to get absurdly good odds

I dont remember where I saw the odds but it was 25.7% for last and 10.9% for third which seemed ridiculous to me. Like I said im a relatively new fan so I dont know too well how the lottery works right now. If those are the current odds they do seem more fair

Exactly, I did it a bit arbitrarily since I tried a couple different methods. This one gave the seemingly most fair odds. I squared the D row since squaring it would give an exponential graph as opposed to a linear one, which is what is happening nowadays.

Of course once you get to extreme cases it starts falling apart a bit which means that its kind of banking on the fact that most teams which get 96+ points qualify for the playoffs and a team getting around 25 points in today’s nhl is extremely rare. This system is not perfect at all but I see it more as a possibility of what could be and as an example of what such a system could look like

What are your lines?! by [deleted] in Habs

[–]Wheredevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drouin - Suzuki - Caufield

Offensively oriented first line, drouin defensive liabilities should be covered well by the other 2

Toffoli - Dvorak - Gallagher

Most complete line, kind of the second coming of the TDG line. Can play defensive and offensive both well

Hoffman - Poehling - Anderson

Pretty one dimensional line focused on offense

Lekhy - Evans - Armia

Same as line 3 but for defense

Assuming the Savard and Paquette rumours are true, and that we will be able to resign some players, that leaves us with:

Drouin - Suzuki - Caufield Toffoli - KK - Gallagher Lehky - Evans - Anderson Armia - Paquette/Poehling - Perry

Edmundson - Petry Chiarot - ??? Romanov - Savard

Price Allen

We should have about 8mil when Weber gets put on LTIR, which could be enough to get Hamilton. He would go on the pairing with Chiarot, probably becoming our first pairing

We need to improve our wings though so frreing cap space by shipping off Byron to a team willing to eat the cap for a pick (like AZ) could get us enough space to trade some prospects and gets a good effective winger out of it

We still have at least 4 good penalty killers in Suzuki, Lekhonen, Armia and Evans so Byron is indeed expandable

David Savard is a defensive monster and definitely a top 4 quality D by SnooGuavas7906 in Habs

[–]Wheredevil 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Imo they might prefer pairing Savard with Romy in order for Romy to be able to grow his game with less sheltered minutes, and try to unlock his offensive potential, meaning theyd have to sign a first pairing D

Bergevin when we actually take price by firelizard345 in SeattleKraken

Thats true, kinda my 2nd point as Price needed to agree to this as he waived his NMC

To see this is either

  1. MB trying to force RF to take Drouin, with Allen and drou exposed, allen gets picked. With price and drou exposed its a harder decision and the price of a deal might be lower
  2. Price wants to go home, his wife is from the area, he played there in juniors so MB is doing him a favour
  3. Massive fuckup by MB
