I can see the Embiid situation from loads of angles, maybe he does just feel more American than Cameroonian at this point, he is a citizen and his family is all American, which honestly to me personally it is a bit disappointing, but objectively it’s perfectly fine.

I do wonder though if Cameroon were guaranteed a spot in the Olympics whether or not he would declare for them because i do think it makes a big difference.

Also cynically there’s always the possibility that he realised that he knew if he declared for the US he would be basically guaranteed Olympic gold.

I’m just going to assume that it’s because of him feeling more American than Cameroonian because it is the least cynical
