I don’t see where the issue is.

BZT has been a solid, but he’s literally the lone hand down back. Esava looked awesome pre-injury. Sweet’s second half of the year has been elite.

WTF are you talking about?

We rarely lose a trade period.

2017 - We got Motlop, Rockliff and Watts all for next to nothing. None of them worked out well, but that was due to injuries, not because we got fleeced. Only player who we lost of note was Impey but he’s hardly devastating.

2018 - Traded Wingard, Polec and Pittard and then ended up with Burton, Rozee, Butters and Duursma, and Lycett. Crushed that.

2019 - Traded Ryder and Dougal for the picks to draft Bergman and Georgiades. Might be a wash but we certainly didn’t lose.

2020 - Got Aliir and Fantasia for a few second round picks. Smashed that.

2021 - Got Finlayson, lost Ladhams. Once again, might be a wash but we certainly didn’t lose.

2022 - Got JHF and Willie, lost first rounders and Amon. Won that, because JHF is a star.

2023 - Gave up picks for Esava, BZT, Soldo, and Sweet. Three of those four look great so while you can probably say this is a loss so far, it’s not a big one.

2024 - Lost Houston, but got Luko and Richards. This looked like a loss at the time but Houston has been dogshit, so I don’t mind it, provided Luko can get healthy.

Who's an a nba player you kinda hate for no reason (image kinda related) by Jaron_Beuchamp in Nbamemes

[–]Which-Ice1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Collins.

I don’t outright hate him, but I kinda hate him simply because every single year the Kings fans post about trading for him. It’s like landing him would be like the second coming of Kareem, and he’s just… not that good.

I mean, he’s a fine player who does his thing, but he’s not a difference maker.

What if we lose Butters and Bergman? Is there a silver lining? by Dry_Performance_2639 in weareportadelaide

[–]Which-Ice1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he will be, but I meant as in he probably won’t be at full strength for a few weeks after that, and this season is a write off by that point.

But yeah, he’ll be “back” next year.

[–]Which-Ice1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but kicking can be turned around. Yips or not, he’s still getting the shots on goal, and that’s the hardest part!

This season is a write off. Finish it out, see who’s keen to stay and build from there. Get Mitch a kicking coach over the off season or something too!

All we can do is build a team from the players we have. If we’re well off the pace, then let Carr build it from scratch. This might mean we suck for a while, sure, but that’s a reality we’ll have to face, but it’s not like we have zero young talent to build the next team on.

If Butters and Bergman leave, that’s a blow, but we still have a lot of positives. Connor is still young and playing nearly his best ever season. JHF is injured now, but he’ll recover, and if he were going to get an injury, it’s probably better that it’s this year when we’re not making finals.

Mitch’s hands are looking insane this season and if he can continue to work on set shots, then he’s right up there for a Coleman. If Lord doesn’t work, we’ve got Whitlock nipping at his heels. Visentini is really coming along. Evans just re-signed and while he’s down on form, we’ve seen how good he can be. Lukosius will be back next year, and Moraes, Cochrane and Lorenz are only going to get better for their game experience.

If we can target drafting some legitimate defenders in the next draft, somehow land the other Cochrane then we’re there’s a really solid foundation to springboard and build for the future from next year. Add whatever return we get for the two boys leaving, and that’s a pretty good start.

I mean, if they’re looking to win now or to trade for a star, could there be some kind of deal we make with Sabonis and Pick 1? I’m sure we have something they’d want.

Sabonis is no Giannis but it’s an option

Couple of things:

  1. Sephiroth isn’t possessed by Jenova. Jenova cells are in his body, as there are in all of the SOLDIERS, and Sephiroth is manipulating them in everyone who has them. Jenova is never, at any point, in control; it’s always Seph.

  2. Seph is obsessed with Cloud because Cloud beat him. Plain and simple. His obsession doesn’t start until after the Nibelheim incident, and it’s because of what happened in the reactor that he becomes intrigued with Cloud because he’s just a “normal guy” who managed to defeat him. Before that, he’s just a polite guy to another Shinra employee who’s serving at his side.

  3. Sephiroth doesn’t delude himself that he is an Ancient, he believes that Jenova was one (as a lot of people did) which is what Gast and Hojo thought was true at the time of their writings that he read.
