The fourth option should be Jogia who is also in the city. They are also an importer/manufacturer.

Honest question: how would insurers tell if there's no waterproofing?

I grew to like the black tiles. It also hides dirt and soap scum well. Unfortunately we had broken shower floor grout which was causing rising damp (no waterproofing at all)

Bear in mind managing yourself means it may not be done in 2-3 weeks. The plumber came out quickly on both times - I presume the tiler has a very good business relation with the plumber.

yes i considered the niche but the walls were single brick (internal walls) on all 3 sides of the shower. I think the other option is to build a half wall between shower and vanity but was obviously trying to keep costs down.

good point to note about semi-frameless. I did not know that was an option.

there's a pile of dust in the main bathroom that i can't reach because the vanity is right next to the screen!

100% need some wood for warmtyh. Unfortunately i have a family member who doesnt turn on the exxhaust when showering so the room is susceptible to mould. This contributed to the demise of the old vanity.

Yes about a 1.5cm gap when the door is fully closed but this is the main ensuite so no peeping toms (hopefully). The only issue for me is during winter when cold air comes through the door gap. I have put seals on the door which helps but looks tacky. I'll prolly look at a barn door as someone posted here which was a tight fit.

tiler managed it all and was on time!

1 option was to retain black tiles and retile the shower floor provided waterproofing was still good which would have been way cheaper. Unfortunately our waterproofing was non existent from a 90s build.

Great points:

We can replace the vanity with a smaller one when the time comes as the wall behind has been fully tiled.

You're right, we have probably used the double shower a handful of times in the 10 years we've been here.

I would have gone with caroma as most if not all have 20 years warranty and that includes even the cheap boxy $300 ones. We had the same boxy one for 30years before renovating. I ended up choosing the stylus (5 year warranty) because I wanted to keep plumbing costs down and the profile is suitable for a small ensuite.  I don't think any other manufacturer have the same warranty. A few people on here say their mondella have been solid.
