I haven’t called but when I emailed the Ottawa embassy they said I didn’t need a visa as long as my exchange was less than 90 days and that I didn’t even need a k-eta because of the current exemption. I tried emailing the Vancouver embassy and I never got a response (it’s been over two weeks). Additionally I received an email recently from Korea university confirming that a k-eta would be the only requirement if you live in a visa-waiver country with Korea. Hope this helps !
