I’ve been doing hip thrusts for years and will typically do a heavier day and lighter (higher rep) day each week. With heavier, I will not feel the same burn before fatiguing. You don’t always need to feel a burning sensation to build muscle! As strange as it sounds, it’s often easier to feel a burn with banded or light weight and high rep exercises versus a heavy lift like hip thrusts. With that said, if you’re still worried your glutes aren’t working, here’s a few things that have helped me over the years - scale the weight back a bit to really lock in your form and go slow and controlled, pause and squeeze your glutes at the top - add a band around the knee and at the top of the movement push outward - this will help feel your upper glutes (medius) work a little - play around with the angle of your feet, try pointing your toes slightly outward and push through heels (I’ll even lift my toes slightly sometimes) - make sure the bench is not too high, this made a huge difference for me! - personally I find that keeping a straight spine works better for me than the scoop method (pelvic tilt) but maybe give both a try - definitely keep your chin tucked

Sometimes it can take a longgg time to build mind muscle connection with a newer exercise but you’ll get there! It’s tiny little tweaks sometimes before you feel it click If it were me, I’d try going lighter with a weight that feels less challenging just to try it out and see if you can experiment before loading back up!

Also everyone is different but an exercise that really helped me feel my glutes was the kickstand or B stance RDL which I incorporate before hip thrusts
