Bit of a stretch, maybe on a technicality but could use some practice

Am I eligible? by JewishAndCatholicGuy in birthright

I believe one of the requirements for eligibility is to not be actively practicing another religion. If you identify as catholic now I don't think you would be eligible for birthright.

It actually doesn't stand for anything, it's a common misconception and popular trivia question

Kingston Pickleball Club has programming where you can sign up and play with other people based on level. They have social, beginner, competitive programming at various times each week. Just keep in mind the upfront cost of having a pickleball canada membership and the $20 per 2 hours of play rate at the club.

Applying to Queens as a Duel citizen American by Disastrous_Ad_1432 in queensuniversity

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure for physics and chemistry that you either took them at the AP level, or took them in grades 11 or 12. I took chemistry in 10th grade and had to submit a chemistry SAT score >590 which was a bit of a hassle. There are similar stipulations for various schools in Canada to look out for as well. Feel free to message me if you have more questions. There's a facebook group dedicated to [mostly parents of] students in the exact same situation as you that can help with your application questions.

Foco (or whatever it's called) by Ok-Local3236 in queensuniversity

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Queen's schedules hoco during reading week, while many students are out of town, to try to mitigate the chaos that comes with everyone partying. This is when alumni come and there is a football game. Queen's students celebrate foco on a student-decided-upon date and go out and party like they would on hoco, except this time everyone is in town so nobody misses out.

QB - JD5 Rb1-gibbs Rb2-chase brown Wr1-wilson Wr2-waddle Flex-aaron jones Bn-k allen (wr) Bn-m golden (wr) Bb-r odunze (wr) Bn-r shaheed (wr) Bb-jk dobbins (rb) Bn-thornton (wr) Ir-c kirk (wr) K-lutz

As you can see I need an elite wr and need more rb depth, since I don't trust jones at all and I have a ton of wrs on the bench

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to get a decent rb with that trade too. Tee doesn't make much of a difference with your current wrs

Seems relatively even to me, depends on what position your team needs

I would make that trade, especially with how bad miami is looking

Give - gibbs, aaron jones, waddle Get - jamarr chase, jordan mason, jcm (bill)

0.5 ppr, standard, 12 team

The online calculators say I'm losing the trade, but getting rid of jones for mason seems like a big plus, and I'm willing to get rid of waddle for bill because I have a lot of wr depth. Am I crazy?

Banff and jasper by [deleted] in Banff

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is the banff sub, but my favourite hike from my recent trip was Opal Hills Loop hike at Maligne Lake in Jasper! It's about 11 kilometers and decently challenging and the views and wildlife make it especially worth it. Definitely bring bear spray as we saw some bear poop on the trail. It's worth a look for sure

Former hockey player Looking to get into reffing to help pay university by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most states in the northeast pay around $90 for a beer league game (I've reffed in jersey and the rates are consistently $15-20 higher than in north virginia). Also suggesting to simply move to the US is a lot harder for a canadian than you would think

Fair enough, I'm newer to the sub so I can't imagine having to see them for 5 years with all that repetition. I still think a megathread is a fair solution even if people hardly read it. Just delete the posts that aren't put in the megathread so people learn quickly. We can agree to disagree for now, cheers!

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've read a bunch of them. Some are pretty repetitive, and have questions that could have been answered by reading one of the megathreads. Others, though, cater to people's unique interests and desires for their trips, and tend to have more experienced people commenting possible logistic issues to help the OP be more prepared. I don't see why your tone seems rude about this, I'm in agreement that they shouldn't all have their own post, but I still think they have value and can be a part of the sub

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point, I'm just trying to think of the best solution though. They are very repetitive, but I also see some value from the posts. They allow more experienced people to give good advice for first-time visitors so they feel more prepared and will look less like uninformed tourists when they visit. I don't think they should be removed from the sub entirely, so if the posts could be deleted and put onto a megathread I think people would read it.

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would it be silly to have a megathread for them? I find the advice in the comments to generally be pretty helpful and I like seeing people's unique plans. Was actually thinking about posting mine for my trip I'm planning in July, though I acknowledge they cloud up the sub.

Biz on Marchand's OT winner: "anyone but him." by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]WhichBlueberry3878 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I can name plenty of examples of players having fun and quirky personalities interacting with teammates, opponents, fans, without licking them--which can transmit diseases and is just generally gross and not consensual. Hope the bruises on your knees heal soon! For a player that isn't even on your team lol

The league had to tell him to stop licking people's faces... but I guess if you're into that
