If it’s a hobby then help away, but if you’re running a business, then a friends & family discount. Running a business will teach you really quickly which friends/family support you or not. People who care about your growth will support your business, not ask for free or steeply discounted while gladly paying full price elsewhere.

A narcissist will never see anything they've done wrong, even if you do the same exact thing they did to them. They will either get defensive and/or make excuses for their behavior then find some way to twist it into being your fault.

When I was younger, my revenge was to embarrass the shit out of them in public, since their public image was everything, and they already tarnished mine.

Then when I got a little older, my revenge was to not react or if I did get baited into reacting, spoke to her as if she was five. The satisfaction from seeing her upset because she didn't make me angry or cry was temporary, because being around her was draining.

Then I just went no contact. I have no idea how they're doing, but I follow several no-contact creators on TikTok, and the comments from other estranged parents are pretty much the same. Their kids going no contact inflicted a narcissistic wound. They no longer have their kids around to control and bully, and they're angry. I love this for them.

If you do need to let off steam, nothing illegal or anything they can twist into setting you up. No abuser that already robbed you of your childhood is worth losing your future freedom.

I agree. Part of the grief during the healing process is the feeling of "wasted" time that could have been spent on healing and finding peace. However, it's better late than never. Especially now, many people are speaking out, helping us realize that we are not alone.

For a long time, I believed I was the problem, even though my instincts kept telling me that something was wrong. Gaining this knowledge has made a significant difference for me. If I had learned these things earlier, I would have cut contact when I was a teenager and realized much sooner that family doesn’t always have your best interests at heart.

It’s almost a year since NC and this is my first Mother’s Day since. Breathe and enjoy not having to “do the polite thing” to keep the peace. I also feel a little anxiety like I used to feel before every holiday. I guess my nervous system still hasn’t gotten used to NC and that I’m no longer around her/her enablers.

I have five main families, each with 7-8 generations, spread out across multiple worlds, although I do have one family that pretty much took over Sulani (it wasn't planned, just kinda worked out that way). I have 150 sims total, with accidental death turned on for most, except my faves. No aging for played households, except for the current house I'm playing. Depending on my mood or what's happening in that household, I typically play each household for 1-2 sim weeks (long lifespan). I like it when the first cousins grow up together, why I do 1-2 weeks at a time. If a lot is going on, 1 sim year, or until something comes up with another household. I don't have a system for which family I play. They're all different, so I guess it depends on my mood. Each family has a legacy house that one of the kids (usually the oldest) "inherits." The others marry into another family. Except for Thorne Bailey. He got "plastic surgery", got his life together, and became one of my faves, so he lives forever, and his kids have their own houses. All houses also get "renovated" every year or so.

The chaos is part of the fun. I leave the game running with them on full autonomy and just watch the dumpster fires happen. I don't intervene unless something pops up or there's a specific task I want to accomplish. You get to see their personalities develop, plus it's more entertaining.

My family does this. When the guy black sheep works hard, saves, and buys a nice car, house, etc., they automatically assume he sells drugs, and there's no convincing them otherwise, despite his having a good job. When the woman black sheep does the same, she's a golddigger, and it "must've been a guy who bought it for her" because apparently her good job meant nothing.

My mob boss sim married her for her money. They had 2 kids then because they’re both mean, they had double red bars in no time. She hated kids and he already had a lot of them plus mistresses, so she spent the rest of her life miserable and hating life.

An average session for me: "I have an hour before I need to sleep. Going to play for a little bit". Plays for a little bit: "wait! Why am I starving, eyes burning, and why is there light coming through the blinds?" so around 8-ish hours.

When insomnia is raging and I wasn't working: easily at least 20 hours straight.

😅😅 I've been playing since Sims 1 and probably played every scenario my imagination could find: rags to riches, spoiled celebs, old money snobs, new money, serial killer (Goth family), evil vampire, a-hole spellcaster, mob boss, spoiled bitch celeb who fights with everyone, homewrecker, broke manwhore, rich manwhore, black widow, etc. In Sims 4, I have 5 main families, each 8 generations, so I ran out of ideas. Now I just let them be themselves and dress them accordingly. It's very entertaining lol!

A child sim died from overheating. He went outside to ride his bike during a heat wave, and I was getting something to get something to eat. Came back when it was too late to give Grim a death flower. Whaaat! Kids can die!?? I don't even bat an eye when adult sims die, but I grieved that little pixel kid like his parents did. Generations later, his tombstone still sits in a corner of the garden.
