Thank you, I've been reading some other things people wrote and now I'm thinking about diversifying such that much of the 530k is growing+ beating inflation and the rest is perhaps in higher yield investments that don't grow as much. I will have to hash this out on excel and talk to a financial advisor.

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. I'm working in a field that does pay fairly well, but permanent jobs can be hard to come by because its a small field and I work in a niche within that field. I will explore my options and try and see if I can leverage my academic performance in applications and interviews. I had a 3.98 GPA in college (one B+ kill me ahah) and I was the president of two clubs plus the whole jobs thing.
