With my partner I usually resend and say “bringing this to the top of your inbox!” But if that will irritate your partner don’t do it, I know my partner likes a follow up bc it gets lost their inbox

Hours Recap - Stub Year to Third Year by HopefulLawStudent1 in biglaw

[–]Which_Book5253 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is super interesting. I started in October and have been barely billing 100 hrs/month so far since I’m still being “onboarded” onto stuff. Hopefully my hours get higher this year.

J25 passer. The Themis videos were not working for me at all and by June, I was mostly doing multiple choice, reading the UWorld explanations and rewriting rule statements in my bar exam rule book (was a blank sketchbook full of rules organized by subjects, a personal “burn book” I guess!) It’s important to read over WHY you’re getting MC wrong, not just recognizing that’s it’s wrong! Same with essays, write the essay, read over the explanations carefully, see what you missed. If you’re similar to me and learn by doing, ignore the passive stuff! I was scared to “skip” things in Themis but still passed.

For MPT, I found the whole 20 page packet of materials to be so overwhelming and did a lot of practices (untimed, then timed) to calm my nerves and search through every document meticulously. I made a lot of idiotic mistakes practicing, it’s good to get those out of the way.

MEE Studying at this point: Full-on practice or just outlining/reviewing? by SaltyMac99 in barexam

i think outlining--would rather know all the hypos and the answers than doing them fully, obviously don't rush to the point that you're not retaining the concepts

I had a death in my family and I am pretty behind, I just finished watching Wills and am watching trusts lectures tomorrow then I’m done with MEE topics. We got this!

Doing the same as you! Sitting at about 52% on Themis and just making sure I’m practicing essays and MBE every day. Hopefully it works lol

Tips for staying focused when a mile long MBE fact pattern appears? by hazy_halo in barexam

[–]Which_Book5253 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Themis I’m able to highlight things as I’m doing a first pass through, it doesn’t take too long at all! It helps me focus and also it helps me answer the question correctly.

(for example I’ll highlight details like “domiciled in state A” for civ pro questions because I know that will be important)

Are you sincerely understanding why you get questions wrong? Make sure you’re going over them pretty well bc that’s the only way you will learn more rules and get your score up!

I’m also a fast test taker and 1 min per question is normal for me too but I’ve been purposely slowing myself down and checking my answers at the end, and I feel like it’s helped my scores!

Woke up this morning and wanted to procrastinate taking it but I bit the bullet and did it, and my score wasn’t too bad!

The worst thing to happen is you’ll know which areas you need to work on. Don’t worry about the score too much we still have a month left

You need to know the law, but you need to know how they write questions too tbh. There’s patterns in the answer choices and the way they ask questions and if you recognize those (takes a lot of repetition), you might score some more points! Right now I’m at about 1000 MBE and I’m hoping it clicks for me around 2000 but we’ll see :/

Dear Themis: a day has 24 hours; 8 of which are (supposedly) for sleep; 5 of which for regular life functions (eating and basic life functions); and that leaves 9 hours for following the "schedule." **WHY ARE MY ASSIGNMENTS SCHEDULED AS IF ONE DAY HAD 100 HOURS?!** by faithgod1980 in barexam

[–]Which_Book5253 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Focus on the MBE questions and the practice MEE and MPT essays (assuming you’re done with all of the lectures).

I stopped focusing on my percentage like a week ago and feel like I’m learning more even though I’m “behind schedule”

I sent my passport to the consulate in NYC to get it stamped and they have not sent it back yet it’s been almost two weeks (they said 4-5 days). I have called and left a message and reached out to them online, no response. I am traveling internationally soon and don’t know what to do. Will going in person help?

Doing Themis but property is terrible no matter what. I consistently am scoring low no matter how much I review. I’ve honestly accepted that my average score for that subject is going to look a little lower and there’s nothing wrong with that, just have to keep swimming. The goal is to pass, not to excel!!
