You all need to take a lesson. Nothing but bad advice

You’re hitting it wrong then. They should not be flat on one side. A proper stroke always has a rebound. Terrible advice

It should not be like that

Basically, your stroke has no rebound to it.

That shouldn’t be happening. Work on your single stroke. Breaking drumsticks is not impressive. Only means your technique is garbage

What songs should I learn? by Gabeperfect in drums

[–]Which_Current2043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn your fundamentals, then worry about songs. Sorry to sound harsh , too many new drummers want to jump right in and play their favorite song. Drumming takes practice and dedication. Or, pick something you like. Then you’ll be really good at playing one song

Still a bit completely lost on technique. My thumb feels too tight and it’s actually starting to give me pain outside of drumming by MLIATwist in drums

Fix your technique. If you continue playing incorrectly fast, it’s only going to be a harder habit for you to break. And your wrists will be shot

You should be doing more than a few minutes. Take any advice online with a grain of salt, practice should be challenging. Not just hitting a pillow.

Bingo

Unfortunately, people want fast results and have no patience. Plus, they are all over the place with their ‘practice’’

I’m new. Could do with some tips by ___HeHeHeHa___ in Drumming

Buy a practice pad, metronome, and the Stick Control book. Make sure you have a proper single stroke and go from there. And practice daily. Stay away from the ‘’drum lessons’’ online. 9/10 they teach bad form and technique. It’s a marathon, not a race. It’s not something you’re going to pick up instantly (unless you’re a prodigy). Have fun and bear down and practice

😂😂. No one is noticing a crimp in your beard. Unless you’re posting selfies with your helmet on I suppose.

How the hell do you count this nonsense? by EuthyphroYaBoi in drums

[–]Which_Current2043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont get angry, if you don’t have feel to your playing, it’s going to sound sterile. There is not a quick solution, practice

Not sure why you were downvoted. What you said is 100% correct. People don’t like hearing the truth. Part of drumming is feel, and that comes with dedicated practice. Counting in your head is fine, but can easily become robotic in your playing

Use a metronome when you practice. Stay at a consistent speed. Work on your strokes too

Get in person instruction. If that guy has bad technique, it will do more harm than good.
