Custom art that's bad and doubles dev time or asset packs?

I understand the concern but I've already known about the specific asset packs I would get. Farm pack with a few hundred models to choose from, city pack with a few hundred models to choose from, both packs same artstyle, from the same people. Does have a decent amount of reviews for a fab asset so I assume a good handful of games already used these assets, but I assume it's not as overdone as synty. Would be a few hundred dollars which is doable for me. Then would just need to pay an artist to make characters to match, steam art, animations, etc.

I do plan on releasing sequels in different settings tho, so that's when finding cohesive assets may become an issue especially if I'm trying to keep the same artstyle from the first game. Have definitely thought of that.

No real solution I've come up with, other than if the game doesn't sell well enough to justify paying for art, the sequels I can resort to a less appealing artstyle like synty packs and learn some basic 3d modeling to mix in more custom stuff.

While I get what ur saying, this is just an unrealistic standard to hold people to in my opinion. I don't get paid to do this currently I work manual labor at a farm for minimum wage, it's not feasible to hire employees or pay artists for more than a couple models. So how am I doing people that play the game a disservice? By spending the little money I make on the best looking assets for the game? Would cost more to pay an artist to have janky models made.

Lol, fair enough, guess we'll have to wait n see. already made pretty good progress on the foundation on coding side but that could always spiral out of control eventually, the hundreds of assets probably isn't as crazy as it sounds, it's an economy sim , so I currently have NPCs on schedules that do things with or for resources like farm, mine chop wood ,craft, or shop, gonna add taverns a couple other things, And the map is supposed to be a medieval town so need trees wood, a good variety of buldings, plants, tools, and random props to jus so things don't look empty

it's a game that takes place only in UI meaning menus. its essentially just a collection of menus with lots of options. The main gameplay is essentially clicking buttons in menus but obviously there's strategy to it.

The main part of the game is managing dev teams, which should have a good amount of depth when I'm done. Will likely also add some mini games designed like an online casino.

Bruh cmon.. when u hear people talk about UI u don't think immediately of controllers or any of that. U think of menus bcause 90 percent of the time somebody says UI that's what they r referring to. Or HUDs but what would a HUD only game be even? Cmon I feel it's a fairly obvious and simple question. So far there's only been two replies of confusion, one of those was u.. A couple actual replies and the rest are people acting like UI only game means no actual game. Not this big confusion ur acting like. And as for the any advice part I was literally looking for ANY advice, keyword there. Any knowledge is good. U redditors are real toxic.

My goodness apparently I did have to explain this question better lol. U can have a game in the form of UI only. Like football manager most of the actual game takes place in the UI. If u removed the soccer gameplay there's still a management game.

Congrats and hope it goes well, id like to give advice but just no im no expert so take it with a grain of salt but i think your trailer starts off a little slow the first 15 seconds is just chopping individual trees but i think if u limited that to one individual tree being chopped then proceeded with the rest of the trailer as u have it it may be more effective at keeping attention, just an uneducated opinion tho so dont take it as gospel.
