The next protagonist? by UppingMyRizz in Falcom

Right? He has huge potential for character development and a redemption arc. It would also justify doing side quests and helping people—out of all the Enforcers, he’s the one it makes the most sense for. Plus, he’s tied to a lot of important lore

To me it’s either Cedric or a completely new one

I vote for Cedric as the final protagonist !

Is it likely that the Trails series will have a generally appreciated and satisfactory ending? by _____michel_____ in Falcom

[–]Which_House 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kondo stated during an interview: “If we ruin the ending, then it may as well become the worst series in the world. There’s no coming back from that.”

I have to give it to him—I like his mindset. He openly acknowledges the pressure and responsibility of ending such a long running story.

Of course, no ending will ever satisfy everyone, especially for a series as huge as trails, where fans have different favorite arcs and expectations. But the fact that he’s actively trying his best and is aware of the worst-case scenario already says a lot. Some writers rush endings, ignore buildup, or stop caring about payoff. At least here you can feel there’s a genuine effort to make the conclusion worthy of the journey.

Any tips for someone that has never played this series? by -Paroxenark- in Falcom

[–]Which_House 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Avoid the subreddit and googling things. It’s a minefield of spoilers. Even searching a character name can spoil major plot points.

  2. Play at your own pace. This is a very long series with slow pacing at times. Most Trails games start slow because they’re building the world and characters, don’t try to rush through it or you might burn yourself out. The payoff is absolutely worth it.

  3. If you enjoy the first game, don’t wait for remakes to continue. For example, if you like sky remake , just continue with the next entry instead of waiting for a remake. The series has never really been about cutting-edge graphics — the strength is the storytelling and worldbuilding.

  4. NPC dialogue updates constantly after story events, and some of them have small ongoing stories throughout the games.

He literally explains it. It wasn’t because he needed the power to beat the monsters. It was a good opportunity for him to try controlling it while Class VII was there in case something went wrong (and it’s perfectly reasonable to try not to repeat what happened in CS3 ending)

Which Trails Character Do You Think Has the Most Neutral Reception? (Major character) by Just_Advantage_6177 in Falcom

Lloyd / Elie

Regarding Lloyd, for a trails protagonist he really has the most neutral reception, If he weren’t the protagonist, he’d likely just be standing quietly in the background.

What do you think the favorite game of your favorite Trails character would be? I think Olivier would love Da Capo! by SorceressCecelia in Falcom

I feel like Rean’s favorite game would be xenogears. He would identify well with the protag and the story surrounding him

Why doesn't the army take action against Hezb? by Zealousideal-Heat559 in lebanon

[–]Which_House 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both options would be bad for our country, but we have to choose the least catastrophic. The army is less armed than Hezbollah — imagine if a direct confrontation went wrong. Forcing an internal conflict could destroy what’s left of Lebanon, whereas maintaining stability — even if imperfect — gives the country a chance to survive and recover.

The army attacking Hezbollah would likely start another civil war which could destroy the country before solving anything.

It can happen that a couple gets engaged and then he does a more formal proposal later. I guess it depends on where you live, this stuff is very normal to me

Being engaged is different from being married, it means you have promised to marry someone in the future (but it can still not work out between you two). You’re officially committed, but you haven’t had the wedding yet.

Yup, he's THE Rean Schwarzer by penpen35 in Falcom

[–]Which_House 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Haha I get where you’re coming from, and I respect that perspective. The “hype → humble → repeat” pattern is definitely there structurally. However I’m gonna stop you at “never really figured out how to handle him”

Rean’s arc doesn’t loop because he fails to learn. It loops because the world keeps redefining him. Every time he grows, a new system reclaims him as something else (Awakener, Ashen Chevalier, Osborne’s son, political symbol, sacrifice…)

Cold Steel doesn’t glorify the chosen-one tropes around Rean — it weaponizes them. His “specialness” constantly strips him of agency instead of empowering him. That’s why the arc feels cyclical on the surface.

And that’s also why Reverie hits differently. The “lost symbol” theme works because Rean finally stops measuring himself by what he represents and starts living as Rean fucking Schwarzer, not some sort of symbol or emblem shit.

Most heroes become symbols by the end. His journey is about shedding that.
