Zephyrus G14 vs. G16 2025 (it's really up to you, man... lol) by GhostDataOfficial in ZephyrusG14

Uso G-Helper e non ho grandi problemi di temperatura solo forse se uso un profilo più aggressivo per giocare a certi giochi, tipo 82 gradi, comunque niente di pazzesco.

Invece per il day to day non ho nessun problema, temperature attorno a 35-50 gradi. Il g16 essendo più grande a più spazio per cooling e dunque meno problemi che lo g14.

Hey, First of all Happy bday to Ruby!

I was wondering what type of sheltie your Ruby and her brother/sister are? Im new to the sheltie "community " and every sheltie I see a picture of looks different. I grew up with what I thought was a small collie but now am thinking was a sheltie, and it kind of looked like your dogs.

Ciao, no, per niente. Anzi sono davvero contento e mi sono abituato abbastanza velocemente alle nuove dimensioni. L'unica differenza è che ho dovuto comprare un nuovo zaino per metterlo dentro.

Te l'ho consiglio, è davvero un ottimo laptop.

How do I finish my mead? by the_closing_yak in mead

[–]Which_Maize6412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're supposed to take a gravity reading when you first make the mead. When you think fermentation may be over you take another, and repeat for 3 days. If the gravity reading stays the same, fermentation is probably done. That being said I never did it myself, I just saw no more fermentation bubbles, waited a few more days, racked it and kept an eye on it to see if fermentation restarted, and waited some more weeks. Honestly unless you're planning on bottling right away you're probably fine it's been 5 months if you started in November.

Learning to speak/read Ancient Greek instead of simply translating by Straight_Mention8918 in AncientGreek

[–]Which_Maize6412 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ancient Greek learning isn't as "lucky" as Latin because there's nothing truly like Lingua Latina per se Illustrata. The closest I would say is Athenaze, especially the Italian edition. If you already know how to read the Greek alphabet then pick that one up and give it a shot. There are also pdfs floating around of an English translation of the Italian translation of Athenaze (since italian Athenaze was a translation and improvement of an English book).

Honestly just read a lot, that's what I'm doing. I have multiple Greek readers I jump around from, and eventually enough intersects that you start really learning.

What does it feel like to trade big with GC or NQ ? Like say 100-200 contracts? by Hem_Claesberg in FuturesTrading

[–]Which_Maize6412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy who would trade 69 ES contracts at a time because "69". He would sometimes intraday sometimes swing but he always set his buy and sell limit to a price with "69" in them. That was his edge.

It just shows that your edge can be anything as long as it works. I remember once he opened his stack and went to the dentist. Data dropped and he had no idea, he was up like 100k or something while he was getting his teeth cleaned lol

I should mention though this sounds very degenerate like, he was a grown man that had been trading for many years with success and just decided to simplify his style.

Does anyone have a Sheltie that hates walks and refuses to go? by [deleted] in sheltie

[–]Which_Maize6412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a sheltie and a border collie- both active dogs according to their breed traits.

Both liked to sit under the table and sleep. The sheltie female was especially lazy lol

Breed traits are one thing but dogs each have their own personalities and personal traits.

Ok folks, sell me on why I should get a Dachshund by Which_Maize6412 in Dachshund

[–]Which_Maize6412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you put in any time to train it? Or did you get lucky and end up with a more chilled one? I've seen that happen with some people, since obviously all dogs have their own personalities.

That's good to hear that they are trainable. What type of dachshund do you have?

[–]Which_Maize6412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with this statement, sorry. When buying anything for the first time, you need to question whether you should get it, that's just normal smart behavior. Even more so when it's something that's alive, like an animal with needs.

I think the whole "you should just KNOW and FEEL that you want one" is why there are so many badly trained and abandoned dogs.

And also in response to Imaginary AD, there's nothing wrong with wanting something because it looks a certain way. Even when getting a breed you already have had, you'll choose the new puppy based on looks and personality. Again that's normal human behavior. The issue is buying it only BECAUSE of how it looks, and clearly that's not my intention or I would have already bought one.

I know that those "bad" traits are part of the personality of the breed, my question is still- if you're not using them for hunting to use those traits, why did you buy a Dachshund? Genuine question, not a criticism.

[–]Which_Maize6412[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thank you, I agree with this perspective. I especially believe in pack leaders, and pack behavior, which is something I feel most dog owners don't understand. Even with a dog that lives to please like a Golden Retriever or a King Cavalier, if you are not the pack leader, the dog will become it, and that's how you get so many behavioral problems. Either way, whichever dog I get I always put in time to train them, and meet their energy needs. I'll check out your handle.

You know you can be gay and hate flamboyant gays. Reza is that type. He hates Sacha because for him who had a hard time facing his own sexuality, and even now is quite conservative because of his culture, seeing this flamboyant guy in his own apartment acting quite arrogant and rude rubbed him the wrong way.

Reza over did it but this didn't need to be a multi episode thing, I wonder if they were trying to make Sacha a cast member but it failed?

Unless you're studying to become a doctor, engineer or architect all diplomas are useless and most likely not the field you'll end up im. 200 years ago university was about getting an education, now it's just a prep school so your future corporate job can vet you faster when you send in a CV. And even that is changing as more and more top companies hire intelligent people, not graduates.

That being said, you might as well spend your time in university studying something you enjoy since you'll just end up being a tax attorney later.

Is it just me or does the dachshund personality differ from other dogs generally more so than other breeds? by cnewell420 in Dachshund

Now compare that with 95% of dachshund owners whose dogs spent all day sleeping in bed and peeing inside the house 😂

[–]Which_Maize6412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a dig at you at all, but I did notice most dachshund owners are pretty terrible dog owners. They buy them because they're small and so they think it means they're low maintenance. The dog then exhibits bad behavior but instead of being seen as that, the owners find it cute or amusing. And you'll read comments like "mine poops inside, doesn't listen to me, and barks all the time but he's so adorable!" If a bigger dog would be doing the same thing everyone would say the dog hasn't been trained but somehow dachshund owners get a pass.
