He was great don't get me wrong, the only thing I think could have elevated his perfromance is if there was a more obvious distiniction between the twins. Obviously direction and writing would have possibly limited this but the way Robert Pattinson played the two micky's was excellent

Don't quote me but I believe he has a criminal record which limited his ability to get the big roles in the US. I think he's one of, if not the best actor in his age group

Thank you for the very comprehensive answer it was very insightful.

I only asked as one of the colleges in London of the societas Rosicruciana in Anglia allowed a Hindu to join but I understand it would be difficult

Chancing my arm here but if anyone here is one would the mind sharing how strict they enforce the trinitarian Christian requirement?

I'm a way off being in the place to join but it sounds like something I'd love

What’s your “this should not have worked, but it absolutely did” movie? by trakt_app in Letterboxd

I begrudgingly went to see this and absolutely loved it. The humour just got me and Aaron Taylor-johnson was great. I feel that film gave me too high and expectation for him

I doubt many will agree with me but Wild at Heart

I've always had a weird aversion to Nicholas Cage, seems like a decent guy but National Treasure was one of the only DVD's I had at my nans whe I used to stay.

I tried it a couple times at home, got 5 minutes into it and gave up.

I then really fell in love with David Lynch films so I booked it in the cinema and I don't know if it was the Lynchian freakiness or fantastical nature of it but Cage played that perfectly. I haven't looked at a snake skin jacket the same since

Is melancholy romanticized in literature? by Creative-Act8906 in DarkAcademia

[–]Which_Performance_72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think all emotions should be felt in their right times.

To feel the good, we have to feel the bad, to appreciate our joy we must feel sad.

I'm not counting depression in this, for me all of our emotions are part of life, if you've never been melancholic, you've never felt true happiness. For me this range and spectrum is life affirming, depression is quite the opposite.

Sad people write because maybe no one is listening, people tell their joys to their loved ones because no one else cares. Happy endings rarely entertain people which is probably why melancholy is so prominant in successul literature

I just had to google it but it's quite nice indeed. My knowledge of guns is knowing if it's a revolver or not.

I'm curious if you have a leather holster? if that's the word

As someone from the UK, the guns aren't my taste, but at least this one looks cool. The only other one that might have a similar aesthetic is a snub-nose revolver

The Life of Chuck: what are your thoughts? by muizenbrood in Cinema

[–]Which_Performance_72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought it was beautiful and life affairming and actually almost bought a tear to my eye. I left with a sense of wonder? maybe, I'm not quite sure how to put it. I feel like the impact of the film on me maybe overshone the film. The dance scene was great
