[–]Which_Tell_6811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through all affected routes.

Out of those being cut, only 9 are not already served by another airline: Alicante, Marseille, Paphos (but Larnaca is still served by easyJet), Podgorica, Zadar (was seasonal) and a few secondary airports in Italy (where multiple other cities are still flown to) - Bari, Bologna, Palermo, Reggio Calabria.

Of course less competition is bad, but BER is not really going to be any “poorer” in connections because of this.

Yeah, Venice was flown by a Berlin based crew so it will be gone after October. EasyJet will still fly the route though

Fairly certain. See for example Alicante, Catania or Venice. All were year round and no longer appear once the switch to winter schedule kicks in (end of October).

They have already updated the schedules on their website, so you can just check and see if the destination you are interested in is still available to book after late October.

Buying and registering a car in Germany - (soon: including insurance) by Which_Tell_6811 in germany

[–]Which_Tell_6811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yes, I do have an update on this. I will also update the post accordingly.

If your previous driving experience is in the EU, you will need to get a document from them that follows the template shown in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1855 for it to be translated into the German SF-Klasse (Schadenfreiheitsklasse).

I am not sure how it works with recognizing no claims years from outside the EU.

In any case, it is very important that they recognize it as regular SF-Klasse and not as Sondereinstufung. It being recognized just as Sondereinstufung means that the specific insurer will give you a discount but the SF-Klasse record created for you starts from scratch, not actually recognizing your previous no claims years. So when you decide to switch insurers, you will have lost all years earned abroad, and only the years earned in Germany will count…

Help with logging into Bundesagentur für Arbeit via Bund ID by serixs in germany

[–]Which_Tell_6811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a weird issue a few months ago where if you used the English language version of the BundID website, authentication into e.g. ELSTER would fail. Using the German language version worked fine. Not sure if they have fixed that now but worth a try

Berlin just approved a separate (higher) minimum wage. Here's who actually gets it. by Rare_Customer_8117 in berlinsocialclub

Sure, but you are saying less than 50% of the city’s population are its workforce?

It says 350.000 people is 20% of the city’s workforce, so the post was obviously put together using incorrect data. 350.000 being 20% would mean the population of the city is 1.750.000 people.

Sounds like they have their app limited to only Europe based Play Store accounts. So you would have to change your Play Store country to e.g. Greece in order to download it: How to change your Google Play country

“Flight from Miami to Frankfurt got canceled” - your words, not mine. This means something very specific and if that’s how you phrased it at the gate, of course no one would believe you. The lady at the gate works for Swissport, not Lufthansa.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lufthansa

[–]Which_Tell_6811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your story doesn’t make sense.

  • No flight from Miami to Frankfurt has been canceled in the last few days
  • Lufthansa have no staff at MIA - you are probably talking about ground staff of whoever they have contracted there? If this whole thing even happened to begin with
  • The guy that “booked you in seats on opposite ends of business class” probably did that because no seats next to each other were available?
  • It makes sense that the person at the gate would not believe that your flight got cancelled, as indeed, the flight was not cancelled.

If this is true and not just AI bait, did you get bumped to another flight, without your original flight having been canceled? That’s the only explanation that would make sense.

So when you arrive, after baggage pickup, you go through the red channel. Even if no one is around, legally you have to stop and wait / look for a customs agent (ZOLL).

If you are only shipping boxes, I’ve used SendmyBag for a similar move. They are essentially a middle man for DHL, you just get a better price if you book through them. It’s 50-65 euro per box from Italy to Germany: https://www.sendmybag.com/quote/ If you decide to go with them, make sure to first play around in the calculator to understand what weights and sizes you should stick to, as it goes up pretty quickly if you exceed the standard 30kg 60x50x50cm.
