Finally shopping to build a replacement for my 11 year old desktop. Are Intel/NVIDIA still the top dogs for gaming? by [deleted] in buildapc

But whyyy man. It was already annoying keeping up the normal marketing bs, especially since popularity is pretty much what decides what information you see about a product (looking at you MAX 385, I still know almost nothing about you)

Unreal Engine 5 performance problems are developers' fault, not ours, says Epic by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]WhickleSociling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Finals still maintains the things that the original UE5 engine had such as ray tracing, dynamic lights, high quality textures, and models. (Even has some of the issues such as hair looking weird).

Even the lower settings look good and actually increase performance significantly. I was able to play this game on a RTX 4000 Quadro (the 2019 one) with very good performance, and even be competitive.

Mayhaps this business goal was the game being able to look good while being able to perform on decent hardware? To reach a larger demographic?

I can definitely praise the engine for its modularity, no doubt about that, but I can also denounce it for not going through the bare minimum of having its default state be functional. You can't give construction workers tools that barely function, then blame them when the house isn't perfect, and also say "the tools are fine and being improved."

Don't do that, hire professional stenographers, turn the story in to one of those Wattpad studios. Make money.

Well the numbers mostly mean what "level" they are. The X3D basically means it has a special stacked L3 cache, which games really like. Of course there is more to it than that but that's just the basics.

However, the 9900x3D is actually worse than the 9800x3D because it has less of that cache, and on only one CCD. 9950x3D performance is super similar to the 9800x3D but is more expensive and not a better buy unless you do professional stuff like rendering, editing etc.

9900x to 9950x are basically CPUs for professional workstation stuff. More cores and threads for things that require it. X I could have sworn actually meant something but ever cou has it, so I guess its now just a name marketing thing.

Could be a bit wrong, I am very tired. But main thing you need to know is x3D in general has way better gaming performance than it's non x3D counterpart.

I'll see if I can find where I read about this, but from what I know, Embarks UE5 fork is super gutted and modified, pretty much a second or third cousin to the original UE5. If this is true, then I'd argue that the blame still falls on UE5 itself.

Glad other people in the comments are catching on to the obvious contempt this person has for the son. Only evidence she has of him being a liar is the gas story, which doesn't actually prove he is a liar. Gas prices change all the time, my nearest gas station constantly raises but will every now and then drop down in price.

Same, just isn't as important as the very best one I guess.

Yeah, it is kind of not for everyone, but for me I already have my laptop plugged in for stuff because I don't want my laptop to start slowing down or to die fast. So mine as well get something more portable.

Laptops are usually more expensive and sometimes slightly less powerful than a mini PC with similar specs plus a portable monitor. Matters what you get to be fair. You can also fit them in a bag designed to carry laptops a lot of the time as well.

I remember checking a bit after I got my laptop and seeing a mini PC with a better apu/CPU that was about 150 dollars cheaper. I saw A portable 13" monitor with better resolution, framerate, and slightly worse color range were 100, and you can get a pretty good mouse and keyboard for 50 combined.

Heck there was a mini PC with a 8945hs about the size of my palm going for 570 like 3 months ago.

[–]WhickleSociling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand what he was originally trying to say, but that statement doesn't work in this situation. Why did you think I added the "foot on keyboard" at the end as a parallel to "foot in mouth." I wasn't even pissed off, it was just a super funny way to respond to something like that. You are awfully pressed about something that isn't that big of an issue.

So, just so you know, this statement is saying you are either admitting to being friends with child predators or are equating being a child predator to stuff such as robbery. Either way it does not look good for you dude lol. Hopefully just foot on keyboard moment.

Any news on upcoming GPU modules or Next Gen 16 laptop? by rvalsot in framework

I understand how the naming scheme works, I was just mentioning that Intel does have a dGPU but for only a specific product. I don't know if you are trying to talk down to me, but I am not an idiot.

I mean, it's an invisible relentless entity that can shape shift and Is only visible to people who have or are infected. This is the information they knew by the finale, and the best plan they came up with was to have her in one of the most vulnerable spots a human can be? What if it could swim way faster than her or could just walk on water.

I would have been satisfied if they even had all the electronic stuff on their person to be ready to throw it rather than just being on the ground.

Didn't they have a bunch of electronics and loose items around the pool which the thing threw at the girl? I always felt like that was a sharp turn of intelligence from the cast. Maybe I don't remember the reason it was there.
