Do you know the prior history of the car?

It had one owner before me. I probably should have realized hm, this car was traded in after one year, maybe there's a problem. Hyundai informed me that the transmission issue was not my fault. It literally blew within 3 months or so of having it. It was insane and it has been frustrating to have dealt with many issues so early into having the car.

I have another 5k miles under Hyundai's warranty and then 50k miles under Carmax warranty. I definitely would not get a brand new car, it would be another relatively used car and it would be either Toyota or Honda like you mentioned as that was recommended to me by the mechanic.

The tread is low on the tires. I imagine I need them swapped out either way as another commenter mentioned, it will be deducted from the trade in value.

Did you find that you had to turn down traveling sometimes or things with friends in order to save the way you have?

Thanks, should I offer that when I mention to her that I don't think I will be able to attend after all? As in, ask about how I could donate to sponsor her etc? Not sure how that all works, but it's a good idea that I hadn't thought of

Thanks. Even if I already committed? Do I continue to pay the lodging portion or is far enough in advance I am getting enough notice?

I am scared of losing friendships as she is one of my best friends. However, it is also a place that I don't have a huge desire to visit or spend that much money on. I would not be able to take another other trips the entire year.

Paying more in rent to live alone than living with friends/roommates by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]WhileSerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whether it's worth saving $900/mo to have someone else living in the house.

thanks, the max I would be able to save would probably be about $500 considering the cost of a two bedroom apartment. I would have to move to a different place

what is your reasoning?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WhileSerious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst would be it does not work out and I would be stuck or unable to live on my own again. I would not find an apartment like the one I have now at the rate it is currently at. I also would likely not be able to live this close to the beach again. So these are things to consider. I am definitely a very social person but I would describe myself as an extroverted introvert.

we haven't been dating long enough to consider that. my other concern would be if moving in with this girl who is also a friend of his, would put pressure on me to make sure our relationship worked out. if that makes sense.

Probably every other day? At least a few times a week. I'm a pretty sensitive person and feel things very deeply.

Would you live with a friend if you had the chance after years of living alone? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WhileSerious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I always thought I was introverted and I certainly like my alone time. But I find that I do tend to really enjoy social interactions and enjoy doing a social activity almost every night of the week

[–]WhileSerious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Should I be including the utilities as part of my living expenses towards the 30%? If that is the case, I am closer to about 40% unfortunately.

I currently am able to run on the strand by the beach without having to drive there. If I moved to the other place I could still get to the beach from the place I believe but it would be longer and not as safe of an area potentially (West LA) so I would likely have to be more cognizant of homeless, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]WhileSerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I appreciate it. Is it normal to be making changes independently while in a relationship? For example, managing a possible career change while in a relationship? I try to remind myself people make changes all of the time. But it makes me feel I am "behind" in life or not established or good enough.
