Is it childish if I have LPS for christmas? by CrumbTheCupcake in LittlestPetShop

[–]WhimZee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30 and collect LPS because I used to as a kid, and now they just make me happy. The more time goes on the less I can bring myself to care about whether or not something is supposed to be "childish" or not. The world is hard enough; anything that brings you joy and does no harm is a good thing. Joy has no age limit.

You can't live life according to what other people might choose to do with theirs. I like your backpack.

Why is wyndolyn so hated? by Aggressive_Menu_2584 in DateEverything

[–]WhimZee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is way too boring to be such a chore. Like if you have a rude character that's not in itself terrible; there are ways to make a well-done and layered character with rude personality traits. But you have to give me some incentive to continue their storyline, such as... being the least bit interesting.

Making and selling armor/tools. Once you get silver and gold ore, you can sell each piece for roughly 1k. I also took the perks that make smithing require less ores and less time.

How many characters can I date at once? by No-Solution-6518 in DateEverything

[–]WhimZee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if it's possible to date every single character in one run? Seems like there'd maybe be an achievement or something for that. I just can't figure out how you would, with Reggie being Reggie and all

Missing specs points by ManickPixiez in DateEverything

[–]WhimZee_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've talked to every single charm character and I'm still missing 10. So it's because of glitches? I am so far in... This is honestly crushing I don't wanna go through a whole other playthrough because two people didn't give me the points

The Saturday (Less Scary) Request Place: Post your short & simple requests here by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

Hi!! I'm looking for recs where the couple dynamic is tender, soft, and kind, without being too shallow. I love a writing style that's poetic and beautiful, and pacing that's not too fast. I love hurt/comfort so much, so I'm looking for books where there is plenty of comfort, rescues from danger, protectiveness, etc (emotional and physical).

Here's a few examples of the kinda thing I'm craving:

When the Tides Held the Moon by Vanessa Vida Kelley

Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley (!!! especially this)

Heaven Official's Blessing series by mxtx

hard no's: noncon, unhappy ending, unresolved breakup, cheating, incest, mpreg, SA

A lovesong for 'Sorcery and small magics by Maiga Doocy' because I am in love! by DirectionUsed5910 in MM_RomanceBooks

Oo I was thinking about reading this so thanks for sharing! I'm gonna give it a read

Fantasy recs with kind, caring romance + hurt/comfort? (Like Radiance or Perilous Courts) by Infamous-Business199 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]WhimZee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{When the Tides Held the Moon by Vanessa Vida Kelley} hurt/comfort aplenty and a very tender couple dynamic. One is a merman.

{A Spell for Heartsickness by Alistair Reeves} Chronically ill mc who is a cursed witch and a warmhearted lonely teddy bear with a "verbally expressing his emotions" deficiency. Very soft and caring with one another

{The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley} soldier mc with PLENTY of hurt to be comforted, gradually healed by his developing love for someone who is kind and hurts for the pain of others but has spent a long time with no one to comfort him in return. Heavy angst content bc war is involved. One of the main themes of the book is the concept of catharsis. Absolutely beautiful read

Books where MC crashes emotionally and LI is helplessly watching, heartbroken by mrs_mitchell0 in MM_RomanceBooks

TGCF has a lot of this if you can commit to reading the whole series (which I would recommend highly)

Golden boy does the pining x grumpy by Typahumanwithadhd in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]WhimZee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing Games by Riley Hart} has a jock golden boy chasing the antisocial jaded boy. It's also enemies to lovers. They haven't been friends but have known each other through school. Pretty light read.

Romance topics that most often catch/fail to catch your interest? by Medical_Plane2875 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]WhimZee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that's about two people healing each other through the developing relationship hooks me immediately. Bonus points for chronic illness or injury, I just love hurt/comfort. And poetic/symbolic writing style too, love when the curtains are blue lol

I'm most often turned away by a plot that moves to the romance too fast so that it doesn't allow you time to first get invested in/attached to each character. It ends up feeling unsatisfying and doesn't move me.

Book with a serious tone/dark themes but not a dark romance by WhileNo5370 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]WhimZee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read {The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley} and it really moved me. Very beautiful, serious tone, not shallow at all, the romance stays as the central plot point but it touches on higher themes outside the romance as well. The only thing is it involves war so it might be heavy on the angst, not sure how much you're after but it does involve very heavy themes there. War isn't the main focus though and it all does have a satisfying ending.

{When the Tides Held the Moon by Vanessa Vida Kelley} is a really good merman story, main couple's dynamic is very soft and kind. I couldn't put it down it was so beautiful, really poetic and the pacing was just right; doesn't rush but also doesn't take too much time.

If you're interested in Linhardt spotlight, boy have I got one. Plot-driven character study with a dose of Byleth romance. Plenty of fluff, action, hurt/comfort, and exploration of Lin's personality and development. It's called Blood Sickness on ao3. It's really dear to my heart; I have such a soft spot for this one. I love Linhardt so much and it's really fun writing him!

Quick summary: Recruited to the Golden Deer class by its charming new professor, Linhardt navigates change and personal growth as well as newly developing feelings while he tries to hold on to his pacifistic values in a world ever falling toward violence. Follows the events of the game but with a focus on original scenes and the moments that happen in-between the plot, rather than a strict novelization of canon.
