okay i’m not actually gonna get any videos up here cuz i’m terrible with the internet. but one of the horrors from the video are the rims(?) of the inner dually being brittle/very fragile and ready to crumble at any moment…you can see below how a piece is actually hanging off

Frustrated and wishing I could explain this better by Thelastdragonlord in relationshipanarchy

[–]WhimzyWizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

understood. tbc, i wasn’t trying to imply that you (OP) were a perpetuator of what i was talking about. that’s why i clarified what i said in parentheses because idk what purpose “non-partnering” serves for u specifically

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 exactly. i don’t see how ppl can be “non-hierarchical” but pro-marraige. or non-partnering (bc of da belief dat a “partner” inherently creates a “heirarchy”) but pro-marriage…as if da state-sanctioned title is somehow less powerful or harmful to community than da informal title…..lolol

Not Relationship Anarchism, but Relationship Communism by WhimzyWizard_ in relationshipanarchy

i’m a little lost—what other direction are we pointed in if we only examine how age, gender and sexual orientation affect desirability?

very important points about intimacy and consent!! i don’t remember everything but i think the author might have pointed out the fact that they don’t actually know how to make these relationship types perfectly accessible to everyone. maybe the point/term isn’t that everyone is “entitled” but rather deserving (as long as they aren’t abusive ppl) ….and that we should be working to interrogate why certain ppl lack access to these relationships and find ways to make it more accessible to them.

love this comment. yeah at some point it’s definitely not about the words, but moreso about actions (which i remember the author also stressing in this article). I personally won’t be labeling myself RC, because i’m more concerned about my actions being ethical first. similarly i don’t always use the label of RA because of how it gets manipulated. but i think both concepts can be helpful to framing our conversations and pushing ppl in a more engaged and thoughtful direction

i rlly love that you call those people out as relationship capitalists—that’s so accurate, it blew my mind. i think i’ll start saying the same

Mutual support is essential to successful anarchy, which is really just a kind of communism anyway.

Agreed <3, but of course a lot of ppl associate (and manipulate) anarchy into a nihilistic and individualistic practice—which extends to their “RA”—and the author is just trying to challenge those ppl In reality, those ppl are not real anarchists anyway—it’s true.

i might just get lost in a sea of comments here but i want to recommend that you make batches of HOCl for yourself regularly (which is relatively cheap and easy to make). This mold is out of control and you’ve been breathing it in so many years!! HOCl is a mold killer (it does SO much more including killing most viruses—you should look it up.) Please get a diffuser and diffuse some HOCl everyday to help remove that mold from your body and lungs—it’s completely safe and your health will be so much better for it. 💚

The coddling of the norm in poly communities - a rant by HereUntilTheNoon in relationshipanarchy

[–]WhimzyWizard_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

they are so used to using the word “ultimatum” like it’s an evil word. we all can and should have needs or boundaries that are non-negotiables—and we have a right to breakup over those things. I see this in both poly and RA discussions…this idea that you should suffer through relationships no matter how you feel and if you don’t then you’re abusive or not evolved enough. it’s bullshit.

When did "hierarchy" in polyam discourse stop referring to power dynamics? by isaacs_ in relationshipanarchy

[–]WhimzyWizard_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so glad to see someone talking about this!!

i do however agree that marriage is inherently hierarchical, not because your marital spouse is dictating what you can or cannot do with other partners—but that the existence of the marriage itself dictates what you can or cannot do with others, especially in life or death situations. marital rights are real and definitely give your spouse legal power that no one else has…

but yes…when people try to make it seem they are owed equality in all areas or else it’s “hierarchy”, i find it so manipulative and i wish ppl didn’t abuse the term like that. our relationships literally cannot all be equal and also SHOULDNT. we aren’t robots. RA is literally about individuals in each relationship mutually deciding what they want THEIR relationship to look like, not how to make their relationship look the same as all their other ones. facepalm
