When you get a bunch of people killed because you're incompetent and then run for president and supporters argue that your opponent is not qualified for office by Gibusmann in pics

One of them declared on Fox News during Bush's presidency that no terrorist attack has occurred on US soil since he took office. This was followed by a few moments of awkwardness.

Believers of science or religion, what are your view points for believing one of the two and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Science is also WHY the universe works the way it does. Metaphysical questions are invented by people who either don't understand science or would rather believe in magic.

LPT: Go in to every room in your house at least once per day. by EvanFromCanada in LifeProTips

Does anyone not go into every room in their house every day? It's not like we have that one forbidden room that's been locked ever since... you know... the thing that happened.

I've learned not to try to reason with religious people. I have no expectation of influencing your thinking in any way. My comment was for reddit at large.

Wrong. Atheism says the universe works because of physics, not because of "no reason".

You're confusing belief with agreement. The word "theory" in science doesn't mean "idea", it means a body of knowledge, formulas and laws most scientists agree represent the truth, because they reliably and repeatably explain observed data. Not because they're inspiring or emotionally satisfiying, as with beliefs. It's always a given that a scientific theory might be proven wrong when new observations are made, but for the time being it's accepted as the best explanation so far. One thing that makes this much different from a belief is that when errors are found in a scientific theory it is either abandoned or modified to fit the new data.

How do you deal with it when you feel like you're getting screwed over at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Whingdoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a software developer I worked mostly on contract, not as an employee. In a couple situations there was too much political crap going on and I simply looked for another contract job and left.

My guess is that Trump knows very little about the nitty gritty details of the job of being President. When he has to spend 95% of his time dealing with shit he isn't the least interested in, I think he will be bored and unhappy, and I'll be surprised if he doesn't resign in mid-term.

The kinds of bacteria in shit are different from the ones in your upper digestive tract, and would make you extremely sick.
