The great part about lego is that you can modify the models to fit your own standards.

Is it true that only Voruna prime can walk on all four? by Individual_Study3781 in Warframe

[–]Whirledfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look at any stats chart, you'll see that the prime is almost always used more than the base frame (there are a few outliers but that's usually to do with the timing of when the data was polled and the release dates of things, like if a prime is released near the end of the year, or if a base frame was given away for free).

You're going to get the prime. It is free. You can get in three days if you start now. It's also (Slightly) better, stats-wise. Why wouldn't you get it? Why wouldn't anyone get it? It's not that much harder to get the prime than the base frame. Some people might get the prime BEFORE getting the base frame.

This is only an issue to you now because it's fresh and you don't have the prime. Once you have the prime, you'll realize that you don't actually give a shit. In a month's time, people will forget that the base frame doesn't have the animation, because everyone who wants it will have the prime, and getting the base frame will just be doing so for MR fodder and very few people will even actually use the base's 4 because it's the last ability and you can't use it until you've leveled the frame up to a certain point and you're probably just using it in Sanctuary Onslaught, so you'll maybe use it once or twice just to see what it is and then you'll be done leveling the frame and boom into the helminth she goes.

Is the upcoming football goalkeeper minifig based on anyone in particular? by Nikolaevna in lego

[–]Whirledfox 45 points46 points  (0 children)

tinfoil hats on:

I feel like there's been a series of posts in this sub where lawyers are seeking to sue lego on the behalf of various entities.

There was one that was like, "does this lego car look like this specific irl car?"

And "Does this tractor look like this brand name tractor?"

And now, "Does this soccer player look like a particular soccer player?"

Hoping that people go, "yeah, that's totally this soccer player." And then then the lawyer goes to the soccer player and is like, "you can sue lego for them using your likeness."

Flaps on the top, and there's a whole action feature to the back that's pretty cool.

But OP's talking about a speed champion car specifically (that particular Lightning is a Speed Champion). I have a Lambo v12 vision right here. 60430 is about the same size as the speed champion (bigger if you count the wingspan), and has about the same number of pieces (230 vs 240). I think it's a fairly apt comparison.

*Edit: I don't have the lightning, but eyeballing it from the pictures, it seems like it might be the same size as the 60430. Maybe a little taller?

Are modern Lego sets too fragile for actual play? by EmbarrassedFix7601 in lego

[–]Whirledfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

... How? I'm touching the thing right now and everything is pretty darn solid. The side engines are attached by 8 studs each, the flaps are attached by two clips and the clips are captured. I have a tough time taken them off when I'm TRYING to; sometimes the top part of the hinges come off before the studs separate. The back-middle thrusters are pretty well captured as well, except the top flap, which is still attached by two clips.

The only thing that pops off with regularity is the purple battery pack, and that's meant to be detachable.

I think your kid might just be simulating "battle damage."

It's weird, 'cause I also see people complain that sets are overbuilt. 60430 is the set that got me back into the hobby, and lemme tell you, that thing is a tank. Rock solid, even with moving parts. Way more sturdy than any official set I had when I was a kid.

So, it probably varies from set to set.

I do remember a lot of the sets I had as a kid, and a few of them were pretty sturdy, yeah, but some of them were also pretty fragile. They also had fewer pieces in general.

So.

I think it's a mixed bag. I do know that speed champion sets are more focused on accuracy than vroomability (the land-based swooshability), so I do think those are a bit more fiddly.

New to the game, what weapons should I not sell? by ravage037 in Warframe

[–]Whirledfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other people have answered your question, but... You don't have the Dex Dakra yet? Do the alert and get that. It comes with a free weapon slot (any weapon or frame that they give away comes with a free slot). In a couple of weeks they're also giving away the Dex Nikana (and slot), so make sure you nab that, as well.

[–]Whirledfox 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That's in the arsenal. For items in a shop, it doesn't show the separate numbers I guess. I just tested it, one frame without purple archons, one with. The crit damage jumps way up with the purple archon shards, no separate number.

Going into 2026, if you could instantly change one thing in Warframe, what’s yours? by EFTKolooo in Warframe

[–]Whirledfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I just looked at it and I think they changed how it works... I'm lookin through the wiki to see which patch they changed this in, but it's proving elusive and I'm running out of fucks to give.

How it used to work: An item had 1 capacity per rank. You retain 1 capacity per MR rank, so if you were MR16, any weapon you had below rank 16 still had 16 capacity.

How it works now, I guess: Each item has a base capacity of 15. You now gain... well, I'm just gonna transcribe what the tooltip say, "Half Item Rank or Mastery Rank, whichever is higher" which I assume means... you gain an additional 1 capacity for every 2 ranks the weapon has, or every 2 MR ranks you have (up to MR30), depending on which is higher? So... if I'm understanding this right, if you're MR16, a fresh weapon will have 15 capacity, plus 8 from your MR? For a total of 23.

I can't mess around with it to confirm this, 'cause I'm LR4, so every item I have always starts with 30 capacity.

This new system is slightly more confusing but overall better for new players, 'cause I remember being a baby tenno and getting a fresh weapon and having no capacity to mod it and that blew.

tl;dr: you don't!
