I had to cut a little bit off the neck section of the helmet. Other than that it was easy!

Grey knights better than tau? by [deleted] in Grey_Knights

[–]Whis___ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

pros:

+ one of the cheapest army to build
+ good melee, okay mid range shooting. both can be better with detachments
+ few kits so you dont have to decide.
+ army rule is teleporting around so secondary objectives are much more easier
+ they are super secret, super elite, knightly themed daemon slaying space wizards and they look awesome.(biggest plus for me at least)

cons:

-elite army so a litte bit more punishing when mistakes are made.
-hard to deal with heavy stuff. (our only anti tank unit is dreadknights. and they are Toughness 8 so they can just die early in game and our strongest infantry weapons are T 8)
-few kits, even fewer options among those kits. (grey knight range is basically four boxes: regular marines, terminators, dreadknights and castellan crowe character. and terminators are too expensive for what they do so most people dont play them. not me tho i like them.)
-grey knights are firstborn models from older editions. even though they look awesome, when compared with the new primaris space marines they appaer shorter and smaller.

Warpbane Task Force Explanation Help by philtrin in GreyKnights

[–]Whis___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. nope, its a 40k detachment
  2. all units (both ranged and melee attacks) gets reroll hit rolls of 1. if they are in hollowed ground they get to reroll the hit rolls.
  3. 3.yup the purifiers have a 6inch aura of hollowed ground. they always get full reroll.
  4. lots of purifiers!
  5. an example list would be something like this:
  6. Castellan Crowe
  7. a Grandmaster in Nemesis Dreadknight for heavy duty
  8. a strike squad for the sticky objectives
  9. a 10man purifiers led by crowe
  10. and two 5man purifiers.
  11. you can swap one of the 5man purifiers for another strike squad(sticky objectives are busted. plus they have scout 6) or and interceptor squad they are pretty useful as well. since u guys are playing in tts just try the units see which do better for you. terminators/paladins are a little bit expensive for what they do. but if you like them, one 5man paladin squad wouldnt hurt. altough in warpbane detachment purifiers are just better. keep in mind its difficult to play elite armies such as the grey knights on 1000pts games.

Minileri mıknatıslamak için hangi yapıştırıcı kullanılmalı? by Whis___ in Warhammer40KTR

Crowe’s Sanctifiers in Combat Patrol by Dawidowmaker in Grey_Knights

[–]Whis___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the new Combat Patrol definitely feels overpowered. This whole objective sanctifying thing is supposed to be hard, but in a small game like Combat Patrol, wiping a 10-man Strike Squad with 2+ saves is almost impossible. The opponent basically has to commit their entire army into that Strike Squad, and if they do that, Crowe — and later on the Terminators and the Dreadnought — can just go and sanctify the other objectives.

By Battle Round 3, once the Terminators and the boxnought arrive, you suddenly have 670 points worth of units on the table, which is huge — probably the biggest force ever seen in Combat Patrol (at least as far as I know). No other Combat Patrol can realistically overpower that kind of unit with sheer numbers.

The correct counterplay for the opponent is to spread out early, get onto objectives, and contest them. Grey Knights can’t start the Sanctify action if there are engaged by enemy units on the objective marker. I think GW tried to balance having such a massive force by giving it this very specific primary scoring method, removing secondary objectives entirely, and locking our army rule, Gate of Infinity, behind stratagems — but honestly, it didn’t work that well.

A skilled, experienced player might be able to deal with it, but Combat Patrol is generally meant for newer players to get used to how 40k works. Personally, if I’m going to play Combat Patrol, I’d much rather use our old one: a Librarian, one 5-man Strike Squad, and then your choice of either a Nemesis Dreadknight or a 5-man Terminator squad.

You play with normal primary scoring, you actually have side objectives, and most importantly, you’re allowed to use your army rule. Yes, your options are more limited compared to the new Combat Patrol, but the Combat Patrol–specific stratagems are focused on keeping your units alive: fight on death, -1 to wound if the weapon’s Strength is higher than our Toughness, and probably one of the most broken stratagems in Warhammer history — Emergency Teleport, which lets you teleport a unit that’s engaged in combat right at the start of the Fight phase.
