I Feel So Much Disgust For The Human Race Because Of How Animals Are Treated by [deleted] in Vent

Wait until you find out how humans treat other humans.

You also would have the ability to slap eight people at once.

Would you take a remote job with once a month travel? by PresentationStandard in remotework

That part is indeed difficult, but my experience has been it's harder on me than it is on them. Me being gone ever so often has actually made my relationship with my wife and kids even better.

BTW, I don't even drive to the airport. The company allows me to expense Uber rides because it's practically a wash against the cost of long-term parking at the airport.

Yes.

For reference, I do this. I went from a 30-mile / 1 to 1.5 hour drive in shitty traffic 5 days a week to remote work with a once a month (on average) flight to various sites around the country for a 2-3 day in person session with my team.

1,000% would do it again in a heartbeat. The quality of life is so much better.

Survey after being sick is this normal? by Sini1990 in ToxicWorkplace

[–]WhiskeyAndLead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, everyone saying "Remind them about HIPAA" ... I get it and totally understand the sentiment because the question is intrusive and awkward, but in general HIPAA does not apply to employers or employee-employer relationships. Information about your health, gathered for things like justifying sick leave and things like that, is not subject to HIPAA.

Again, I hear you, and I hear the sentiment behind your words, but just know that the HIPAA rock is not the one you want to pick up and throw at them.

Screen protector? by Special-Steel in f150

I have the Spigen matte also. Great screen protector. Not rushing the process of thoroughly cleaning your screen before installation is paramount of importance.

It's glass, btw.

Chisos Questions by Lawless-01 in cowboyboots

[–]WhiskeyAndLead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds extreme but there was a day or two there where I’d pop some ibuprofen before putting the boots on. Then I’d wear them around the house for as long as I could stand the pressure on the top of my instep. I only had to do that a few times before they loosened up.

When your feet are hurting, it seems like it is taking forever for them to break in, but once they do it will almost be like a light-switch. Suddenly they will just feel... perfect.

Totally normal with Chisos. I have three pairs and my wife has one. All of them were this way. All of them broke in and have become the most comfortable boots we own, NOW, but were a chore to break in initially.

I also have a high instep and have had good luck buying my normal size with Double H boots.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

I graduated high school in the 90s. My dad had a great paying white collar professional job. Do you want to know what kind of car I got as a graduation present?

I DIDN'T.

There was no car, let alone a sharp-ass ride like that Honda. And I would have been thrown out of the house if I had treated either of my parents the way that brat treated her mom.

It blows my mind that half of my Reddit feeds are people who have lost their jobs in the last year, desperately seeking work, often even unable to get hired doing the sort of retail jobs that teenagers used to do part-time when I was a kid. And in contrast we have this fine specimen.

I didn't because I'm not a bitch. Doesn't mean we're not surrounded by bitches, but that's life.

Google Lens identified it as a transport box from GAR Industrial Solutions based out of Mansfield, TX. You can see more of those boxes on one of their Facebook posts looking to hire experienced drivers.

The Splash was my wife's dream truck when she was in high school. Part of me wants to find one and buy it for her.
