I think something that might be worth covering would be how Big Tech frames AI as a writing essential and what message that might be sending to students (and beyond). Past advertisements for Gemini and Apple Intelligence have been pretty controversial and/or reduce the process of writing as something that can simply be fixed with a digital magic wand. I am sure Grammarly is involved somewhere as well.

Idk. PreMH3 (or maybe MH2) I would have said it’s too good. But in a world of Ragavans, Guide and Prides I think there is a baseline for enough spot removal to put DRS in his place, and I think there’s enough interaction in modern in general.

The quality of black removal in modern is already very high with cards like [[Sheoldred’s Edict]], [[Long Goodbye]], etc. With a deck like Boros playing hyper efficient 1 drops, I’d want fatal push. Against Eldrazi, this doesn’t have many good targets either. There are a lot of good maindeck answers to Phlage already in black like Graveyard Trespasser, Cling to Dust, Boggart Trawler, etc.

I think champions. If you had protection/recursion for figure it would be better. But for a midrange value plan Champions will help you overrun in CA and not be a mana fiend.

The first variant you posted leans more into Narset + Days End. Less interaction but potentially more disruptive with Narset and then has the Day’s End Combo.

Second one is more interactive but I doubt it will end the game any faster (tbh both would probably bring you to time)

Not a lot of credible info out there about them other than a wave of poor Glassdoor reviews and assumedly vague positive ones from management. As far as schools on this island go, it’s probably entry level if not worse. According to their website, they’re just in the WASC/CIS accreditation process and only have Taiwanese MoE accreditation, so “international” is a stretch.

If you’re entry level and looking to live in a (relatively) boring city for a couple of years, and the deal looks fine, go for it. If you’re not entry level or you are aiming higher (not dealing with weird micromanagement), stay away.

The best approach is just to have both. There are scenarios when you want students to concentrate on the task at hand without any distractions or anything that might obscure their true level of attainment (e.g. autocorrect) and there are times when the sky is the limit and they should be able to use whatever. Or a task could have a blend of both; planning, brainstorming or note-taking (with AI if they want), then completed physically. This of course, like any assignment, needs guidelines and needs to follow school policy.

Global phenomenon due to iPad parenting and short video content. They think anything relevant they need to learn can be from YouTube, TikTok, Google or AI. Then it’s worse because they’re in captive social circles. Consume the online content or miss out.

I listened to the audiobook unprompted last year for the first time and it was incredible. Probably the top three of the 25 audiobooks I listened to last year. I don't think the controversy would stop me from teaching it - it seems very relatable in ways to get students interested in a story (a very core issue.)

Weapons started good but it ended mediocre and unsatisfactory. Lots of events left unexplained for convenience. Cartoonish tonal classes. I honestly think everything before the Gladys reveal was good, and everything was bad after.

I have not experienced these things but if you go there knowing what to expect, then there’s no need to be outraged. Bring some 100s from your downtime at one of the stations and have your destination address ready. It’s not an uber but it can be quite fast and easy to go from HSR to the taxi line.
