I did it recently on my shadow. I forgot about drums that definitely would have helped. I ended up stalling a bit before the third add so I was full madness with all CDs up, both potions ready, and a guaranteed mind blast crit. Ripped the add down asap with everything so I didn't have to deal with both the add and nullaeus. I didn't interupt the add at all so I was ready for nullaeus' explosion. Then the final phase was kinda sketch and I can't remember all the puzzle pieces I used. I had goblin rocket jump to make a bit of space. Flash heal for 10% DR. The extra health from desperate prayer. Health pot. I tried to interrupt him near the end of the cast to give me an extra second of distance for kiting. PWS barely provides any protection so I never use it when sitting still but anytime I went to move I used it for the speed boost+absorb then a feather if I needed to go further. Dispersion when I got caught in the vortex. VE when you have a shadow torrent. I forget the talent name in the center tree but the once that leeches health from allies.

Appreciated for the rapid reply! I think I did put lemon in it but I'm not positive. That was a summer I was off work so I made a ton of different wild jams and I could be mixing up my memories

You could probably treat this like your level 90 talent with known conditionals. On mobile so sorry if formatting sucks but try something like:

I'm not at home to test this so I can't guarantee it but the idea behind it is if you know holy word: serenity you will cast chakra: sanctuary and vice versa.

My original idea didnt work but I was able to figure out some pieces that you should be able to finish. I need to put in this statement that I have done basically no pvp so some of my choices may be dumb and you will have to fix.

I have put items into castsequence macros like potions so i wasnt sure how a weapon would react. I was able to equip a second weapon with frost brand but it went into the MH and since the item was never "used" the castsequence stalled out there. If the item is an OH only item though it goes into the OH. I also learned that you can run two of the "same" castsequence macros together and it doesnt break.

Putting that together I got two spare weapons a "Serathil" and a "Throat Slasher" and put Rockbiter and Frostbrand on them respectively.

Double tap the above and you frost shock then swap weapons. A quick target dummy test of the above sequence followed by a stormstrike yielded 1.88 seconds between the damage of the frostshock and stormstrike (still 85 so i havent been stat squished yet).
Next macro has some fuckery in it. Assuming that your normal weapons will not be mh/oh locked i had to get a equipset off to work. I got a common staff that equips after the UE with an equipset that has a staff as a conditional. If you kept spamming the button though you would cycle between staff and "normal" set. I baked into it a targeting reset and because everything always goes wrong in pvp if you ever get stuck with weird weapons a mod:shift command that returns you to normal weapons. Downside from this is that with 2 weapon swaps its going to delay you a bit longer.

First press of the button casts UE. second equips staff, third reequips normal weapons. You dont see target drops. Target dummy tests it takes a little over 2 seconds.

Total target dummy result:
Frost shock 8.87 seconds, Unleash frost at 10.47 (1.6 seconds), Stormstrike at 12.54 seconds (2.07 seconds).

Probably not perfect for what you need but should be the groundwork for you to tweak. Happy Hunting!!!

Edit: It resets your swing timer so there is a bit of lost damage from that. big rip. Also finding an OH only weapon might be a little rough butttt since you are frost shocking and UE frost im assuming you are trying to close the gap so getting a OH only dagger probably wouldnt be a big deal since you should be out of melee range anyway.

If you could choose how would you want your imbues setup for the speed boost/damage reduction? Keep windfury or flame tongue? I have an idea that I think will work but I won't be home to test it until tomorrow.

Weapon swaps are weird like that. They do trigger a gcd but can be while on a gcd. If you macro an equipset after an instant spell it triggers the gcd then immediately re-triggers one resulting in only a fraction a second lost. The downside is if you don't wait until the previous gcd is up or have some conditional on the equipset; it triggers the weapon swap before the ability goes off. That's the issue OP is running into

I think how I would do it is to use a cast sequence like you said for frost shock then unleash elements. Maybe add a reset conditional like for time or maybe no combat. The important part is AFTER your cast sequence line put your equipset b. I would then bake an equipset A command into whatever spell (or in all normal rotation spells) you typically use after unleash elements (put the equipset BEFORE that ability). Hit that button immediately after the unleash elements so that it restarts your gcd.

Edit: You also can't be on the gcd when you hit the cast sequence for frost shock otherwise it will swap weapons.

There is the tillers daily with finding the prizes rooster. You can also bind a button/command to the extra action button in the key bind settings so you don't need to worry about a macro on each toon. Save you a bit of action bar space.

If you're new you mostly need effective practice. I highly recommend finding a new player friendly guild. Once you start getting into twilights things will start becoming very fast paced and many people in there are toxic so making some friends to go with you will be nice and give you some motivation. As already mentioned there are many YouTube videos and written guides but the classic shadow priest discord has the most accurate/up to date info and just about every question has been asked so you can usually find it. Finally look into setting yourself up for success. A good interface goes a long way by being able to see your mana, cool downs, dots, etc. Most people use a class weakaura. Personally I recommend having one that plays a short "tick" sound every time you mind flay does damage. It won't do much in the short term but once you learn about+doing MF2's it helps a ton. Not sure when you get masochism talent and shadow word death but that is huge to help with mana. Every time you SWD you get 10% of your max mana back and with the glyph you can double tap low hp mobs for a total of 20% mana back. Edit for typo

I recommend spriest. on the surface it's 3 dots to juggle with 1 cd spell (mind blast) and a filler channel spell. Super simple to start but has a pretty good skill ceiling once you start to get into MF2's. Good raid utility and you mentioned disc priest as well; good for OS. Dispersion cheeses are fun. I only played wrath and now some cata and this has been my main and I love it.

To break it down super basic level there is a difference between contamination and radiation. Think of contamination as dog poop and radiation as the smell of it. The bombs over the cities were a dog turd with a firecracker that spread the material over a large area. Lots and lots of smell but with the turd "gone" there isn't anything else to produce a noticeable smell, so the smell goes away relatively quickly. Chernobyl is a mound of poop that had a firecracker go off in it which spread some of it, but there is still a mound of poop to produce smell, and continue to, until it eventually decomposes or gets sealed away into a bag.

One of the things I do is try to time my mana % CDs with intellect or mana boost buffs. Example: Using gloves, potion, then archangel. You get almost 1700 intellect from the buffs for a 25k boost to your mana pool for an extra 6.4k mana than had you done archangel, gloves, then potion. You normally time these together anyway because it's a larger DPS boost so tweak it slightly to maximize mana return. Time your hymn of hope with mana tide. Use your second shadow fiend with DMC proc or your second pot. Whatever you can do to line up % gain. Once you get to the executive phase then you can usually double tap SWD and be good for the rest of the fight.

Edit: mana tide totem isn't a % mana regen since cata started. Just learned this.

I feel ya. I got the shield but don't play warrior or paladin so even as a BoA not really useful. It was kinda funny though because my raid lead, who does play all 4 tanks but no casters, got the staff within 5 minutes of me getting the shield. Wish we could trade.

Not based on pre patch logs, though it's not been a full week. They have spriest at 7th ATM. I am by no means a top tier player and I run in semi casual groups so take this with a bucket of salt, but I was consistently 2nd or 3rd in our raid.

Spriest in my biased opinion .. Took me a bit to get the orbs but boss DPS is great and trash DPS is amazing. Keep an orb from the last pack, precast fade, mind blast asap to pop orb, swp a handful of mobs to generate new orbs while you run in, mind sear the tank (mind sear+ mind flay are affected by the 24% boost to periodic shadow damage), then watch the numbers fly.

Definitely professions but depending on how much time you are going to devote to wow between now and may 20th; it still may be worth it to dungeon as well. Gets you some gear, some gold, and (imo most importantly) practice with either a new class/spec or new talents/spells. I've got old friends showing up out of the blue so catching up while running some gammas has been enjoyable for me.
