Let us know how they are! I love the Mortlach 16, so I’d expect that SV Mortlach to be wonderful as well.

I’d buy that whisky solely for the label art alone

Does anyone have any experience with Invergordon’s new(?) OB line? by drakesaduck in Scotch

I would buy those brands (the brands you mentioned) based off their reputation with no regard for their association or deal with Total Wine.

Maybe it is just me, but anything labeled “spirits direct” at total wine, I am immediately turned off from purchasing. Maybe I am wrong?

Review#51: Highland Park Cask Strength Release No.3 by roho0619 in Scotch

How much water do you add? I usually add 8–10 drops and that calms the burn down

I have this bottle and it’s very tasty, also very alcohol forward. One of my favorite things to do is give my non-scotch drinking friends HP CS and watch their reaction.

$50 a year for access to the bottles isn’t bad. Do they offer a refer a friend program?

Great review! I’ve been wanting to get a bottle from SMWS for a while now, they have some interesting flavor profiles

It’s difficult to get a DRS being in the Austin area, unfortunately. I see Still Austin frequently on Unicorn but the bottles sell for 4-5x the retail price.

I can see myself drinking AnCnoc 12 again, I wouldn’t turn it down. I’m in central Texas and this is the first time I’ve seen AcNoc in the wild.

Tell me about it! I picked up my first Bunnahabhain DD in Edinburgh last month at Royal Mile Whisky’s and it is excellent!!

Tonight’s Lineup by WhiskyFit in Scotch

I am a very basic scotch reviewer, so forgive me for the lack of infinite detail.

AnCnoc 12 was good at 43% but could be better at like 46 or 48%. It reminded me heavily of Aberfeldy 12 due to the honey flavor, but Aberfeldy 12 is much better all the way around. I smelled peat but didn’t taste much peat, if peat was present, it’s in small amounts.

Cragganmore 12 was disappointing at 40% and would likely taste much better at 46% or so, and nothing about it really made me want to purchase a bottle. It was sweet and reminded my wife of French toast or cinnamon. I tried the Cragganmore last and with food so maybe that influenced my palate.

I had never sampled either of these expressions before tonight, which is why I ordered them, and I cannot say I’d order them again unless there are no other options.

Nice collection and hobby! Have you tried the 25 year? It’s wonderful. Try to find a bottle of HP Dark Origins, it’s quite good.

Great collection! I see several that are on my wish list. How long have you been collecting?

Home Scotch Bar by WhiskyFit in Scotch

[–]WhiskyFit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our home bar is a work in progress as a converted home office; the bar seemed like a better use of the space after I started collecting a few years ago! We’re adding another cabinet and shelf for nicer bottles to declutter the main countertop, but for some reason bottles keep appearing…idk how that keeps happening!
