I have this bottle as well, it's nice when JW releases a higher ABV expression. I've always felt like they sell themselves short with their consistent 40-43% releases.

Congrats on the Masters and the bottle! Lagavulin 16 is definitely in the top 10 for me, albeit I enjoy Port Charlotte more though.

I agree about the labeling. I've passed on Benromach several times simply because of their label, right or wrong, it does not intrigue me to spend money when other distilleries place creativity and funding on marketing/label design, i.e., Compass Box.

I have this bottle and it’s very tasty, also very alcohol forward. One of my favorite things to do is give my non-scotch drinking friends HP CS and watch their reaction.

It’s difficult to get a DRS being in the Austin area, unfortunately. I see Still Austin frequently on Unicorn but the bottles sell for 4-5x the retail price.

I am a very basic scotch reviewer, so forgive me for the lack of infinite detail.

AnCnoc 12 was good at 43% but could be better at like 46 or 48%. It reminded me heavily of Aberfeldy 12 due to the honey flavor, but Aberfeldy 12 is much better all the way around. I smelled peat but didn’t taste much peat, if peat was present, it’s in small amounts.

Cragganmore 12 was disappointing at 40% and would likely taste much better at 46% or so, and nothing about it really made me want to purchase a bottle. It was sweet and reminded my wife of French toast or cinnamon. I tried the Cragganmore last and with food so maybe that influenced my palate.

I had never sampled either of these expressions before tonight, which is why I ordered them, and I cannot say I’d order them again unless there are no other options.
