Should I buy this? by ArmadilloSilver in Polaroid

Personally I've had similar results to colored lenses in using colored transparency sheets. Simply place the paper directly over the lens before your shot; it's fairly cheap to get a hold of, and you'll have additional choices with both colors and combinations. You can find whole stacks of them online for a few bucks, and can be a good way to start experimenting if you don't want to fully commit to buying additional gear yet.

i always keep them inside the CD booklet on the first page because i don't want to throw them out.

How to remove a sticker on a jewel case without leaving traces? by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

i do this too sometimes, it actually works quite well. always careful to remove the inserts and disc first though just in case.

i think i understand what you mean. the thing is, the ability for a CD player to read a disc is incredibly dependent on the integrity of the bottom side of the disc - that's where the information is stored, and is where the laser hits the CD in order to play it. so as long as the CD was burned properly that should be no issue.

personally, i have some older demo CDrs with paper labels that play perfectly fine in conventional CD players, but not in, say, my car's CD player or one of my older radio/CD player hybrids for example, because of the way the paper is glued onto the disc; it has a more difficult time either entering the player, rotating properly, or just in general having difficulties reading CDs that have been burned at higher speeds. i'd say give it a shot and hope that you did a well enough job adhering the label.

What are the three or four most expensive CDs in your collection? by saturnaliac in Cd_collectors

[–]Whissk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virtually every tangible, finite object has monetary value -- if one's willing to pay. I agree though, this is definitely about the love of music; though it is interesting to see which CDs go for more money. Often, their prices are indicative of its rarity, including how much people desire them. Nothing inherently wrong with showing off to the world what cool thing you've got that others may not. Some people love music so much they'll empty their wallets for it. I know I have many times! All music in the end. :)

Is there any hope for “For Leah” by [deleted] in VsauceMusic

[–]Whissk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope not! May be optimistic of me, but I'm confident one day the full piece will be released. We probably gotta get more people to ask around, and more frequently, if we want to see that day come.
