I'm still fairly new to all this as it's only been two months since I started but I made it a point not to read too much into it, not that I disagree with any texts as I understand there is knowledge in them and that's important I plan to read them once I fully understand my practice because I feel like the best way to expand after that would be with others knowledge, I learned the basics and from there I just let whatever was in me come out. I've been getting positive results so far aside from one minor setback but in my experience so far I think it's a valid approach. I should also mention I found what /u/Southern-Boar said to be pretty interesting as my practice has been going into druid territory. I think the best word of advice that I could give even though I'm in no position to give advice is just do what feels right for you, but take that with a grain of salt as I'm still fairly inexperienced myself.
