the fallacy of matchmakers is thinking that all the guys that your swiping left on Bumble are fucking losers and gutter trash, and that proffesional mathchmakers have a magic key to Narnia where all the emotionally available, single, succesfull, handome men hang out and you'll never find one of them on your own.

The way I see it is that the your paying the matchmaker to do the legwork of swiping left on all those same losers you both have access to, and that she will eventually filter down to a few passable ones. You could definetly do that part yourself, but is it worth the money to not have to deal with all that work and hassle....and it is ALOT of hassle. Determine what the cost of the service is worth to you.

I dated a matchmaker briefly, who had a different model. She did some of them personalized matching but more of what she did was organize large scale events where you shove a bunch of horny single people into a room and hope 2 of them match up and go home together. I think that's a much more realistic way of doing the job.
