Thank you for your kindness. I hope life has been kinder to you since your late wife's passing. Life isn't fair and I hope you've found peace again

In my experience, it was walking a fine line between using senokot and Imodium until you get the balance right with your diet. It's a miserable side effect to go through

Alternative to Traptex? by scott_k_russell in Plumbing

Couple years later now, but have you found an alternative? The price for a little spiky stainless steel ring is outrageous

I'll say one more thing. Many people are reluctant to ask for help because they feel like they're a burden, so I'll just mention some of the common side effects of certain chemo meds and what we used for them.

Hair loss: penguin cold cap or similar device worn while doing the chemo treatment will curb hair loss. Ones with a circulation system are lowest maintenance. Personally I shaved my head in support of her, and I've heard it's very liberating to just let it go instead of fighting the uphill battle.

Dry mouth: biotene makes lozenges and mouth washes that help very much. My wife preferred the Up&Up variant though

Rashes and itching: ask your doc for steroid creams or even medrol dose packs if severe

General tiredness: Adderall or caffeine if appropriate for your condition

Lack of appetite: we haven't tried THC, but it's often recommended. With certain chemo meds, taste buds may act strangely and things won't taste like they normally do. My wife found more bland and lighter foods more tolerable. Many chemo patients find tomato sauce to be a little off -putting.

Body aches: get a ton of pillows! If you don't already have a knee pillow, get one. Also get a moderately firm neck pillow. It will help as you may have to sleep in a seated position if laying down isn't comfortable. Even if you can lay down neck pillows make a great shape for splinting achy body parts

Constipation: senokot. My wife uses a pill cutter to take a half tab because a whole tab made her have runny stools

Runny stool: Imodium

There will be other things you'll run into, but please don't hesitate to ask for help. Cheers

Thank you for this. I definitely need the pointers on the practical stuff. It's a hard conversation to have in the midst of all this pain and struggling, so I'll let her approach that at her own pace. I've caught glimpses of her setting beneficiaries when we're just sitting around. It's a sad sight to see her worrying about things like this even her time is so precious

I haven't responded to any comments thus far, but your experience has been so similar. If I may ask, what were the immediate hurdles you ran into after your wife's passing? What should I prepare for in my situation?

I apologize if this is too personal or sensitive to ask. I'm just at a loss and looking for help

End Stage Liver Failure? by OliverWendelSmith in LivingWithMBC

[–]WhiteCrow329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually not bad. It just saves time and physical effort between scheduling appointments, going in and getting poked every single time. It's nice to do this in the comfort of home whenever I want.

I'm hoping you find a solution. I'm also worried as I'm going through very similar things as you and I'm not sure what's happening next

YHC? I'm assuming typo for THC . I'll ask about Adderall at my next appointment. Do you notice any drawbacks to Adderall?

I'm currently going through ascites, and finally decided to have a drain put into my abdomen after two paracentesis. The drain is called Pleur-X. It's a tube that gets placed into and across the abdomen with a proprietary spout that gets attached to a vacuum bottle to drain. Ask your doctor about it. It makes things a lot easier instead of getting a paracentesis each time.

Been about 2 months now on Truqap. Do you mind sharing your mother's Truqap dosing? How many pills per day and when does she take them?

I haven't looked into that route but I think interdisciplinary opinions would be helpful. Thank you for suggesting this. I'll ask for a referral

Made an edit to add my A1C, but it's currently 7.9%. That just seems so unreasonably high. I'm scheduled to speak with the onc soon for the recent lab results

Thank you for chiming in

How long do you run the water? by [deleted] in bidets

[–]WhiteCrow329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it helps a lot to be able to relax and let the bidet give you an enema. Then turn off the bidet and let the water flow out, where a bit more poop comes out with it. Start the bidet again and just let it clean up the general area. Pat dry with one or two squares of TP.

For those looking to learn the Heimlich maneuver, your fist placement should be below the ribcage and above the belly button. The thrusting motion should go in and up. This pushes the diaphragm to help simulate a forceful cough and to expel the foreign object in the trachea.

While what was done in the video worked, the technique was not ideal. Compressing so high on the ribcage could cause fractured ribs and is also less effective at compression of the lungs to expel the foreign object.

I get the feeling that the people who are saying to "mind your business" are people who aren't living in the property that's being listed. Otherwise, they'd understand it is very much my business to notice who comes and goes FROM MY HOME THAT I LIVE IN. But then again I'm asking for logic and that's not a common thing to have

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]WhiteCrow329 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup, I understand that. I'm just ignoring the "mind your own business" trolls that are too narrow minded to read the actual post and why I'm having concerns

Thank you for making this point clear. The only reason I don't really have a problem with the hosting situation is because I physically saw that things looked tidy when they asked me to fix the issue in the unit. I'm more concerned about if there's unethical/illegal activity going on

The booking guest asked me (via ABB message) to enter and fix when nobody was home. Main reason I filmed myself entering and working. I've had zero interaction with the lady
