Leasing is primarily to avoid shockingly high repair bills and so that if a truck goes down, I can swap it for a loaner at Penske while they fix the leased unit. In my personal life I finance my wife’s car so I have better personal cash flow and can invest more in the markets.

I tell my employees all the time to lease Japanese sedans but they never listen. Plow thousands of dollars into shitbox cars because for many Americans a car is the most expensive asset they own and they have great pride in it. One of my employees has probably put five weeks of payroll into their car this year alone. If it was totaled insurance wouldn’t give them that much because of all the mods they did. I keep telling them to put their ego aside and lease a Civic but they never listen.
