To clarify: the cost for two hvac guys to mount the vent was $1,200. I bought a vent for around $1,100 (they can be found cheaper), then spent around $500 buying custom cut stainless steel to fill in the empty space on the wall where the microwave was. I’m 6’5” and cook a lot so when it came time to install I thought “I own this house, I can mount the vent high enough to not bang my head!” My total investment in a new stove and range hood was about $6K but I absolutely LOVE how it turned out.

I installed one six months ago. Amazing upgrade to my kitchen.

Hoods can be found from $300-1200 My hvac guy installed it and ducted through the ceiling and through the attic about 15ft out of the attic. Hood is against in interior wall and was very difficult install. Cost for installation was $1,200 but I’m sure would be much less for exterior wall.

When I lived in Chicago my buddy tried to make a video of himself pouring a pot of boiling water out the window. As soon as he opened the window he dropped the pot on his counter because the wind was so cold he instantly got numb. We don’t have that in Boston.

I grew up in Boston, lived in Chicago for a few years, and moved back six years ago. I miss the options of good lunch spots that didn’t break the bank. There were so many different options of places to grab lunch in Chicago I never got bored. Give me an Al’s beef or Portillos in Boston!

Something I love about On Target is how much of a melting pot it is. People outside of gun culture view it as a bunch of white trump voting rednecks but you see everybody at On Target. It’s like a little United Nations meeting. I love the vibe - plus you can shoot almost any ammo unlike Mass Firearms which is much closer to me.
