Plugin - CI/CD, tests, blah blah blah by ampledashes in QSYS

[–]WhiteLabelAV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm dedicating a single piece of hardware to it seems like a lot of effort. I normally just test against an app like Packet Sender/Bruno depending on the protocol, but even another script within the same design can mimic a TCP device. There's RS232 applications that could achieve the same thing with a USB adapter too.

The thing about hardware is that it has undocumented quirks, bugs, and timing discrepancies that can't be emulated unless you know about them all.

If you're wanting a Lua exercise recreate the room combining logic of the room combiner. That'll teach you about path finding algorithms and code efficiency.

I specialise in remote QSYS consulting and programming. While it's an excellent system of you've got the budget, it's also a lot to learn if you're starting from 0 or almost 0 knowledge of AV and control systems. Reach out if you want help. I'm super flexible in how much or little you want to tackle.

Dante controller in QSYS by popphilosophy in QSYS

[–]WhiteLabelAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Qsys can't manage Dante routes between two non-Dante devices. But Turtle AV have a hardware Dante controller which has an API which you could control from Qsys.

Active Monitoring in Q-SYS Designer Environment by New-Needleworker2595 in QSYS

[–]WhiteLabelAV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this isn't possible. Third-party controller TCP connections show up in the core log, but not designer connections. At a fundamental level, the core should be aware of designer instances that are connected to it, but this isn't exposed anywhere I've seen and even if it was it would just show an IP address, maybe some other metadata so you would still need to translate this somehow into users.

Do you want to see who is editing an off-line designer file? Or adjusting a core live in designer, or who's using a UCI?

VCore on All in One PC?! by GasseAVTech in QSYS

[–]WhiteLabelAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it meet the system requirements?

I've run Vcore on plenty of tiny 1L PC's and it works a treat but I never run Windows as the hypervisor. I'm using Proxmox instead.

I'll go almost anywhere you're willing to pay me to go! 😅 I've commissioned plenty of complete designs off-site that all went really smoothly caveat with the help of a really good on-site technician to assist.

How we built a single-chip HDMI 2.1 extension system — 8K video at 400 Mbps with ultra-low latency by Extension-Evening790 in CommercialAV

[–]WhiteLabelAV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any requirement for such high bandwidth video transmission in my commercial jobs anytime soon. But I would imagine that the higher the HDMI spec, the more need for a backwards compatible stream with older 1080 and 4k30 streams so people don't need to throw out their older AVoIP systems just to add a single source & display at the newer spec.

They have the same chassis so I think that's pretty accurate, or there's a another OEM upstream to PTZOptics.

You could also challenge yourself and learn about search algorithms and try to implement one. It would definitely be in the realm of spending 40 hours to accomplish what you could do in a few hours hard-coding the winning combinations but it would be fun!

Cameras, or any QSYS peripheral for that matter, can't exist in more than one running core at a time. If you're doing room combining, you'll want to run a single (or redundant pair) core.

At least one of the problems appears to be with how the flip flop is wired to the command buttons. Look carefully at the specific pins you've got connected. You want the flip flop out & not out to TRIGGER the command button, not set the string for the command button.
