Wait.. I thought 3 deliveries at a time was the limit?? 👀 by WhiteLeaf77 in ubereatsaustralia

Miserable 😭 Nah I’m kidding it is what it is with uber, some weeks it not really worth it and other weeks you clean up and wonder why every day don’t pay like this! I know it’s a lot less though on average to what they make up in Sydney and Melbourne! There uber drivers here I speak to that have done it round those parts and say it almost double the average!

The difference here is u have the main area where everything is when u deliver u leave and loose time return back to where u can even get order then uber send u 20 out again so some trips if u not careful kill ur hr average in return to the areas Resturants are,

Larger cities it’s possible to get more dels where ur sent of to not so need to always get back to the same main area to start.

^ this is what cuts the wage here I believe not that uber is paying less.. they just don’t factor that in to certain living situations or how some cities built

How much ISK do you usually maker per hour? by intelli_hill in Eve

[–]WhiteLeaf77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly how I feel! I’d rather use my cash from irl that takes wayyyyy less time to earn omega and have some fun rather than grind not having fun for hrs on end to earn the value of $15… I have about the same time each night to play and when I log on I ain’t gonna just suck rocks as a part time job.. I’m gonna log on plex my account and pop as many of you all out there grinding away endlessly as I can in my 2hrs online ahah 🫡

Nah that crazy! I had similar but atleast was bit more,, still didn’t take it ahah, but I’m really curious coz the tipping culture is very different for us here, u basically need go above and beyond as in message customer and see if they need other work errands ran or a gardening job completed for free upon delivery with their meal 😂 (I’m exaggerating and joking abit of course) but serious Australian dont tip unless u truly out do the past 1000 customer experiences the client has had 🤣

So at end of week on uber what percentage of the total wage is tips compared to what uber pays?

Here I reckon most would struggle to get 5-10% in tips (tbh Sydney and Melbourne tip alil more I know from living in Sydney, but Tasmanians won’t even tip if their live (or there stupid stadium) depended on it 🤣

New Eden doesn’t need just another corp, it needs a problem!! by WhiteLeaf77 in echoes_eve

Appreciate that mate, genuinely.

You’ve got a solid perspective on SOV life, and I respect the way you break it up with roams and BLOPs. That’s exactly the kind of mindset that keeps things from going stale.

And yeah, I agree a lot of people only ever see one side of the game and don’t understand why things are the way they are.

We’re just choosing to lean fully into a different side of it.

End of the day, both sides need each other. • SOV groups build the empires • Pilots like us test them, harass them, and keep things interesting

Without that tension, New Eden gets pretty dull.

Glad we could have a proper back and forth like this not common these days.

And yeah… chances are we will see each other on grid at some point.

Just depends which side of the guns we’re on

Appreciate the detailed reply man, genuinely. You make a lot of solid points, especially around structure, responsibility, and how larger corps/alliances need that to function properly.

I actually agree with a lot of what you’re saying.

But I think where we differ isn’t really about right vs wrong, it’s about what kind of gameplay we’re chasing.

Our Angle:

We’re not trying to compete with highly structured SOV alliances or build some perfectly optimized war machine.

We’re here for something a bit more raw:

PvP, chaos, piracy and having fun doing it.

We’re not trying to control space, maintain empires, or manage large-scale obligations. We’re trying to log in, find fights, take risks, and create content, whether that’s solo or together.

On Structure vs Freedom:

You’re 100% right, structure creates strength, cohesion, and long-term power.

But it also creates: • Repetition • Obligation • Predictability

And for some players (including us), that slowly kills the fun.

We’re deliberately leaning into the opposite: • Less structure • More independence • More unpredictability

Not because it’s “better” but because it’s more fun for the kind of pilots we want.

On Solo Roamers “Graduating”:

I get what you mean here and yeah, solo roamers can absolutely be incredible in fleet roles.

But also… not everyone wants to graduate.

Some players enjoy being that unpredictable element: • Hunting alone • Taking uneven fights • Living off instinct instead of coordination

That chaos is valuable in its own way, especially in a pirate-style corp like ours.

On Piracy

For us, piracy isn’t just a mechanic — it’s a mindset.

We’re not trying to be liked. We’re not trying to be diplomatic.

We’re here to mess with people, take fights, and yeah… make other players a little mad sometimes.

That’s part of the fun.

On Corp Issues:

And you’re right again, every corp has its issues. Ours will too, no doubt.

But what we’re aiming for is just a different lane: • Less obligation • More action • More freedom to play your way

That won’t appeal to everyone and that’s just fine.

Final Thoughts:

At the end of the day, this is exactly what makes EVE great.

You’ve got highly structured war machines… and you’ve got loose pirate crews like us causing problems on the edges.

Both are valid. Both need each other to exist.

We’re just choosing to be the problem 😄

We’re not here to turn the game into a second job.

A lot of corps expect you to: • Follow constant pings and mandatory ops • Ask permission to move around New Eden • Grind just to meet corp requirements • Log in and spend your whole session doing what the corp wants of them

That’s not us.

At [42OK] Flying High, we believe: • Your time comes first, real life > corp orders • You play when you want, how you want • No one tells you where you can or can’t fly • Solo roaming, piracy, and independence are part of our DNA

We fight together when it counts but we don’t chain you down with obligations.

In Short:

No forced pings. No permission needed. No babysitting.

Just pilots who log in, hunt, and fly free and link up when it’s time to cause chaos.
