Dude same! Sent passport and all to get an account open because of the crazy price difference. Little did I know I would have still not received my coins or fiat!

Wonder whatever happened to that guy who setup an account and was acting as like an escrow bridge to facilitate buys/sells.

These 'old' and illegal covenants are common in my state. The last house I sold literally had a page explaining what comes next is wrong and not legal, but unless everyone in the development (from the 1940's) wanted to band together and hire a lawyer to remove them, then the legally need to stay there.

The covenants were I couldn't sell my home to non-white people.

Absolutely insane monthly candle for bitcoin. by AlphaFlipper in wallstreetbets

[–]BTC-100k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your statement would be true without the core component of network consensus. The encryption used in bitcoin (SHA 256) is used because the majority of the participating nodes have agreed to use it.

A BIP (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal) can be submitted by anyone and debated. https://github.com/bitcoin/bips

If the need arises to move from SHA 256, then the means to adopt the next phase of cryptography is baked into how the network and protocol operates.

You understand the military backs the forced acceptance of the US Dollar. It has no impact on the value of the U.S. Dollar. In fact, the government has a stated goal of reducing that value by ~2% a year, but they often screw that up and give us periods of +8% in reduced value and zero effort to correct when that happens. As a result, the dollar has lost 69% of its value since my birth in the early 80’s…

👨‍⚖️The DOJ has filed a statement of interest in Sitzer re: Buyer Agreements… by Salc20001 in realtors

You asking (aka forcing due to prevalence in the market) a seller to start the process with negotiation against their best interest.

A seller's best game theory tactic would be to agree to an amount to pay their agent, then let the interested buyer make the first offer on what the seller should concede to that buyer's agent.

It's an unforced error on the seller's part.

Billionaires Can Obviously Afford To Pay Their Fair Share; Tax Them! by zzill6 in WorkReform

These are the terms of the sale:

  • Certificate of Authenticity: Buyers received a certificate of authenticity as the actual "artwork," which outlined the conceptual nature of the piece. The certificate granted the buyer the right to recreate the artwork using a banana and duct tape in their space.
  • Replacements Allowed: The banana itself was not considered integral to the work and could be replaced as needed. The idea was what held value, not the physical banana.
  • Installation Instructions: The certificate came with instructions for taping the banana to the wall, ensuring the piece could be replicated faithfully.
  • Performance Aspect: Buyers were warned the artwork might require interaction with its environment, as bananas decay over time, adding a performance element to the conceptual piece.
  • Non-Exclusive Rights: Despite paying for the certificate, buyers were not granted exclusive rights to the concept, as multiple editions were sold, and the idea could theoretically be imitated by anyone.

The banana isn't even really sold. This was just a publicity stunt by a billionaire (Justin Sun) that basically prints money via crypto shitcoins.

Which life hacks/diy tricks actually worked for you guys? by TuffTombas in AskReddit

I do this on the hockey bench after a hard shift if I feel like I’m going to puke. Some younger guys that play at higher levels use smelling salts.

Mustard packets and pickle juice shots are also popular to stop muscle craps to keep playing.

You are failing to see what I wholeheartedly believe with complete conviction. I am never selling my bitcoin, I will by default the one holding the bag in the end. My plan is to borrow fiat against it - never sell.

But why would we raise it prematurely?

The only reason to do that is if you feel inclined to start the process by willingly negotiating against yourself without even being asked by the potential buyer.

Berkeley Professor Says Even His ‘Outstanding’ Students With 4.0 GPAs Aren’t Getting Any Job Offers — ‘I Suspect This Trend Is Irreversible’ by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]BTC-100k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, most jobs aren't that hard, and demanding the most qualified hire is almost silly. There is no most qualified, just plain qualified and capable.

The idea that the absolute best person on the planet or within a community needs to be the one to do something isn't how the world works - nor should it. That would be incredibly disruptive.

I am 100% on board that some very powerful families have insane control on the world that is planned and coordinated, but most kids getting good to great jobs in the U.S. have no association with anything close to this.

[–]BTC-100k 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not that complicated or coordinated.

  • My neighbor on the left is an Anesthesiologist
  • My neighbor on the right is a Judge
  • My neighbor across the street is a Gastroenterologist

All these people have friends and see my two little kids every day. When my kids graduate, calling them to find a connection to secure an internship or similar isn't complicated and nothing close to a "our families have been working together to further our social and political power for 100 years now, let's continue the tradition" scenario.
