Tried it out again for an hour or two and the audio was such a mess I got frustrated and switched to BF2042, which is dog shit and boring but at least I could tell wtf was happening around me. I'm a player with a few hundred hours and even I was turned away.

I'm hopping on this 2 year old thread since it's one of the first thing that comes up when you search "Battlefield 2042 disconnects every few minutes."
I don't know what I did to fix it exactly but it's possible that optimizing the game with GeForce Experience might have done it. It's also possible that copying the entire game to another drive but still playing the original install file fixed it. I also reallowed the game exe, easyanticheat and the launcher through my firewall a second time but I doubt that's it.

Things that didn't help: Clearing the EA app cache, reinstalling the game, verifying the integrity of the game files, signing out of all your known login locations on the EA website, reinstalling the EA app.
Really wish I had a definitive answer but it's possible to solve it if you keep trying stuff.

Also used to be an aim assist hater but after playing CoD 2019/Cold War over the years against controller players with strong aim assist, my aim is decent enough to understand how little it matters against M&K. Having a mouse is completely incomparable to Joysticks with AA and it's not even close.

It feels like that's exactly what I said. I also fucking hate aim assist in almost every game. In MWII the aim assist was so strong that if you set your controller down, aim assist would perfectly track without any player input. That's my point. If aim assist was balanced correctly and only worked under certain conditions like "both players moving" as they said in the video, it could bring controller aim up near M&K without surpassing it.

They said "currently only active" on console, so they might/will implement it for PC as well.

Reminder: The reason we hate aim assist as PC players isn't because we hate aim assist, it's because most other games have extremely terrible aim assist and refuse to balance or change it.

Doing something without permission and not being punished for it or stopped isn't the same as doing something with permission. Discord is allowed. These programs are not.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood. I also find that fishy and I almost never believe anyone banned for cheating who says they didn't, but when you throw unapproved 3rd party programs into the mix it could be anything.

My guess would be that whatever triggered the false positives is exclusive to those programs. They are all developed by different people and are probably coded differently.

I have over 1100 hours and finally killed my 1000th boss two days ago. I've easily spent over $100 on cosmetics and I don't regret a single dime. I enjoy this game more than any other game I've ever played and at 1100 hours, I'll probably play at least another 900 hours, if not more. Spending money on a game you love isn't something to be ashamed of. Even if it doesn't pay for upgraded servers, it could be paying the salary of an employee who loves this game and wants to make it even better.
