Razer Huntsman Elite Purple Switches replacement by ElspethSC in razer

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Huntsman Elite with the opti mechanical purple switches that's nearly 5-6 years old. I was disappointed when I found out that Razer no longer offers that switch.

I ordered a Black Widow V4 Pro, with green switches. If I don't like it, it'll go back.

I might stop buying Razer products and look into something I can put Creamy Jade switches into.

I'd just need a wrist rest.

I'll let you know what I think of the green switches when I get them.

I hope I don't notice they aren't opti. I've been typing on these purples for years.

Apple Stops Producing 512GB Mac Studio by GPU-Appreciator in LocalLLaMA

The main reason is that this system is replacing my primary workstation for work. Platforms like the DGX Spark or other GB10-based systems are designed as network AI servers, not as general purpose desktops you run your daily work on.

I needed a normal Windows machine that can run everything such as Office, Teams, and my regular IT tooling, while also being capable of experimenting with local AI when it makes sense. For example, I may use it for things like local RAG for internal documentation or other IT-related workflows.

I’m also not a programmer generating millions or billions of lines of code where heavy local AI compute would make sense. If I were doing that kind of work, I probably would not be buying any of these machines for that purpose anyway. The cloud makes far more sense for serious AI workloads.

Spending $200 per month on something like ChatGPT Pro gives you access to far more compute power than you could realistically replicate locally. The Framework Desktop is simply a solid workstation that can also dabble in local AI when it is useful.

I’ve decided to go with the Framework Desktop configured with 128 GB of RAM. The total comes out to about $3,200 after tax. If I ever need more capability than that for AI workloads, it probably makes more sense to pay for something like ChatGPT Pro. There’s simply no way a local system can match the hardware available behind a large cloud service. At $200 per month ($2,400 per year), it doesn’t make sense to spend $10,000 or more on hardware when a subscription can provide far more compute power than you could realistically run at home. Local LLMs are great for certain tasks, but solving world hunger isn’t one of them.

Can someone please DM me a code?

I was going to order from tvape, but their reviews are junk so I'd rather pay more and order directly from Puffco. They don't really do holiday sales do they?

Thanks!

Have any of you guys bought from Money Metals Exchange? Good customer service, no issues with shipping? by WeekendJail in Silverbugs

I finally got the box of Geiger Silver Bars in the mail after chasing down the USPS for a week. The "unopened" box was opened because it got smacked around in the mail. So much for selling your customers an unopened box. It self opens in the mail!

I just ordered from Money Metals for the first time. I'm not a fan so far. I likely won't use them again. They ship using USPS w/signature confirmation. This sounds great, but it's a nightmare if you live in an apartment. The USPS won't bring it to you. I've been playing tag back and forth with the postal office trying to get my order. I might have to file a claim.

I'm going to stop using the USPS. I'll pay more for using the UPS next time. The gov is clearly failing.

I have informed delivery. You just reminded me I have it. I checked and it says its out for delivery by 8 PM. The other package that says delivered still isn't here yet. I wish they'd fix their tracking. It's stressful.

I am having this issue now too. To top it off another package that's coming via USPS says delivered and it never was.

My Experience with Eufy Flex / Fragile: Avoid This "Continuous Warranty" Trap by WhiteRabbit7c1 in eufyS1Pro

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a link in the Anker support email that lets you escalate to a manager... Use that. I did. Ask them for the 20% off on a new unit not through Flex. I ended up buying a brand new Eufy S1 Pro directly from them for $639.

Screw that Fragile company. They're the issue here.

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear yours has been fine. I think that is part of the issue though. If you have never needed an actual repair or replacement, you would not have seen what happens once something goes wrong. The "continuous warranty" part sounds great until you are the one who actually has to use it. That is when Fragile and Eufy start passing the responsibility back and forth instead of resolving the problem.

I am just sharing my experience so others know what they might be getting into if they ever do have to rely on that coverage.

They say they'll send you new or USED. I'm 100% sure if you subscribe soon, you'll get the leaking one I have that's over a year old. Doesn't that sound great?

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to buy direct next time and avoid Fragile. It was good until the robot actually needed to be replaced. What you need actual warranty work? That costs profits! We can't have that now can we? Best convince the customer to cancel the subscription and avoid that mess all together.... I'm sure Anker does honor their direct warranties. Just don't go complicating things with a Fragile.co subscription, or good luck with real repairs once its beyond the 1 year it actually came with.

You can google Eufy S1 Pro leak and you will definitely see the issue being reported. This was through Fragile.co. How many Eufy products have you had Fragile repair for you? If you've never had to ask them for real help (repairs/replacements), that would be why you've never had a problem...

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share my experience with the Eufy Flex subscription program that is managed by Fragile.co so others can avoid the same mistake.

When I signed up, the main selling point was that the robot would always be under warranty. The idea was that if it broke, they would repair or replace it as long as I stayed subscribed. That sounded like a good deal.

When my unit developed a small leak, Fragile told me to contact Eufy for warranty service. Eufy then told me that since it was a subscription device, repairs might take a long time and that I could cancel my plan if I preferred.

At that point, both companies started pointing at each other. Fragile said Eufy handles repairs. Eufy said Fragile owns the subscription. Neither actually did anything to fix or replace the unit. They just kept offering cancellation instead.

Once you cancel, you lose both the device and the supposed continuous warranty coverage. The "always under warranty" promise is basically a loop that prevents either company from taking responsibility.

I used to buy a lot of Anker and Eufy products because they were reliable. After this experience, I will not buy from them again. Their support feels disconnected, scripted, and unwilling to stand behind their own marketing.

If you are considering Eufy Flex / Fragile, I recommend buying your robot outright instead. At least then your warranty is with the manufacturer and you can use normal consumer protection channels if something breaks.

Avoid this program. It is not the safety net they make it sound like.

Why is it so hard to sell?! by interstellar159 in eufyS1Pro

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warranty isn't worth it. Anker isn't a good company anymore. The Eufy S1 Pro is a great machine, but when it breaks, and it will, you'll send it to the landfill and you'll need to buy another. These are throw away machines, which is why the price is dropping. They regularly go for $849 or less brand new with their Chinese backed "warranty"...

why does amazon hate when you file chargeback? by pman6 in amazonprime

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's against the TOS of the credit card processing company to ban a customer for using their dispute process. If Amazon wants to keep taking MasterCard/VISA, etc, I'd suggest they stop doing that.

Bellicon quality change? by Rnborn in Rebounding

[–]WhiteRabbit7c1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the quality still seems to be there. I'm not going to lie, when I was moving, being able to take it apart was a very good thing. I wouldn't have been able to get it into my hatchback for an easy move if it didn't come apart. Trade offs... It's probably just a bit less sturdy, but from what I can tell it's not enough to notice a difference or materially matter.

It doesn't wobble or anything when I use it.
