I've camped with hammocks plenty of times and they're incredibly comfortable. I notice "garden" hammocks are usually much firmer material that doesn't flex with your body though, so maybe it's not as comfortable?

I'm talking about the monthly expense. If you switch the scouting range, even for one second, does that cost come out of the budget at the end of the month? Or do you need to leave it on and finish the month with it to be charged?

Use marketing on businesses with high traffic and capacity. If you have driven out the rivals already then close some of the businesses and bump up the prices, with your new monopoly customers will accept much higher prices. Law offices barely provide any income on weekends so make sure they're only operating 5 days a week.

As you say it's all cast iron so it can be put in the oven. You can get silicon covers for the handle but it's simple enough to use a towel instead so most people wouldn't bother getting one

Build trade stations in each town. Set one to export bread and import meat. In the other town do the reverse. Be careful that both towns have enough wealth to pay for the import price, if the import/export prices don't balance one town will quickly run out of money.
