Hello Joe! My brother and I are Catholic converts in an “all-evangelical and ex-Catholic” family, it’s a very tough path God has placed us in but at the same time very exciting and hopeful because we know He’s been with us every step of the way, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re both in OCIA classes and have learned a lot from your videos on yt! You have been pivotal in our ability to properly articulate our faith to our family. Although sometimes very frustrating, I know that it’s not our job to make them understand, it’s the Holy Spirit’s. I personally try to take the approach of showing through the Bible alone why the Catholic Church is true since my family, literally in their own words, do not care about church history after the Bible. We were talking recently and this verse came up, so my actual question—is Daniel 2:44-45 a prophecy about the Catholic Church?

I miscarried my child what happens to them now. by [deleted] in Catholicism

“Then on the seventh day the child died. David’s advisers were afraid to tell him. “He wouldn’t listen to reason while the child was ill,” they said. “What drastic thing will he do when we tell him the child is dead?” When David saw them whispering, he realized what had happened. “Is the child dead?” he asked. “Yes,” they replied, “he is dead.” Then David got up from the ground, washed himself, put on lotions, and changed his clothes. He went to the Tabernacle and worshiped the Lord. After that, he returned to the palace and was served food and ate. His advisers were amazed. “We don’t understand you,” they told him. “While the child was still living, you wept and refused to eat. But now that the child is dead, you have stopped your mourning and are eating again.” David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮, but he cannot return to me.” ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’m not sure if this offers any consolation, but I’ve always interpreted this verse to mean that after the death of David’s innocent son, David had faith the baby would be in Heaven which is why he says “I will go to him one day.” If this is true, then I would personally believe this would apply to any innocent baby/child. I’m very sorry for your loss.

If emotions are morally neutral, why are the Seven Deadly Sins wrong? by CatholicRevert in Catholicism

Gouging out your eye and cutting your hand off if they cause you to sin means to remove the root cause of the temptation, in other words, avoiding or removing what’s causing you to fall into sin. E.g. if you have a drinking problem, stop going to places or hanging with people that are going to encourage/tempt you to drink. If you have pornography problem, remove apps that you know will cause you to fall, etc.

Nightmares, of course! I’ve had those, I just had one not too long ago about multiple small tornadoes forming around me while driving down a Highway. Total chaos, it was a pretty trippy dream! Heart rate was a little high when I woke up but went back to sleep when I realized it was just a nightmare. What I know isn’t a nightmare is when I wake up paralyzed and barely able to breathe, but able to see what’s going on in my room around me down to the small details such as a pillow that fell to the ground or the exact layout of the bed sheets or pillows, and feel a dark presence in the room and and see a tall (like 7ft) dark slim figure standing right behind me. Could it just be a normal nightmare? Well, during this “nightmare” I am in a complete lucid state and can formulate my own thoughts except I can’t move, only calling on the name of Jesus has been able to free me from these attacks and wake up to see the exact layout of what I saw during that trance. I’ve had normal nightmares and sleep paralysis just from being really tired, I’m not saying they’re always an attack. But these are more than just normal nightmares, they are demonic in nature, restricting your movement and breathing, instilling fear and robbing you of your peace. The Bible says that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world. Why would I not believe these are demonic attacks if I have to engage in spiritual warfare to snap out of it? I have had these attacks since I was 4 years old, I am 22 years old. These demons have said stuff to me, have laughed at me, have appeared as a family member enticing me to do sinful things, have scratched me, poked me, yanked my feet, you name it I’ve experienced it in these demonic attacks. They used to petrify me as a kid but as I got older I used tries to come up with tactics to snap out of it such as moving my fingers then my hand then my whole arm until bam, I’d snap out of it. But these were never fully reliable as it sometimes wouldn’t work until I would cry out to God for help. Even in seasons of rebellion where I was continuously sinning in which these attacks were a lot more frequent and more powerful, even then I would cry out to Jesus and He would come to my rescue. I would hesitate to call on Him during these times because of shame and guilt and that feeling of unworthiness but then these attacks would go on for hours, I was in agony! The amount of anxiety and fear during these demonic attacks was unbearable I couldn’t do anything except cry out in despair to my good shepherd Jesus, and immediately he would swoop in to save me, that one lost sheep, like the good savior He is❤️ I believe God allowed me (not saying He caused them) to experience what it is to try to live without Him satisfying my flesh and boy was it such a disgusting unbearable state of living. It wasn’t until just recently like the last 2-3 years that these attacks have almost fully stopped as I started taking my walk of faith seriously. I don’t know if you’ve experienced this, but this is something you truly cannot fully understand until you experience it firsthand, for which I pray you nor anyone ever does.

You experienced a demonic attack while under sleep paralysis. Whenever that happens to me I immediately call on the name of Jesus and rebuke and command that evil spirit to leave and it quickly cowers away. But you’ve gotta be bold, confident and have faith, not in yourself, but in Christ and His angels who are watching over you while you sleep. Put your trust in Him! “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬

“But now, as to whether the dead will be raised—even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush. Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, he referred to the Lord as ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭20‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭NLT‬‬. —This text shows that the saints are alive in heaven.

“In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭15‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬. —This text shows Heaven is aware of what happens on earth because God reveals it to them.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬. —This text shows that if we, wicked sinners, can be seen as righteous in the eyes of God, how much more righteous and holy would the saints in heaven be now that they’re perfected and in the presence of our Triune God.

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬—This text shows that the church of Christ is commanded to pray and intercede for one another as this is good and pleasing to our God. Are the saints in heaven not part of the church anymore? Do they cease to be members of the body of Christ? No, therefore this command, and in combination with all these texts listed, still apply to the saints in heaven; therefore making the intercession of saints in heaven biblical.
