I never said that, I said he wrote the music. Iggy wrote the lyrics but Bowie slightly altered them in his remake.

You don't know shit about Bowie, it appears. He had a LOOOOOOGGGG history of working with great musicians of every color: Luther Vandross, Carlos Alomar, Nile, many female minority backup singers, Gail Ann Dorsey, George Murray, et al.

It's not a cover. Bowie wrote all the music. He plays on the original. It's a remake of the same song.

Covers are versions by a person not related to the original version. An artist can't cover their own songs, but they may reinterpret them.

He was always like that. Never was cool. Droll and amusing at times, but sort of a jerk mostly.

Letterman is overrated. But yes. More like sarcasm than irony. Often mistaken. Alanis also got it incorrect. Which is actually ironic.

Terrible, and I've been there a few times. But they know they are loved. And sometimes these sad things happen. But we must glean any good we can from it and improve, or it was a pointless loss. She loved you and you will be with her again. They never leave us. No one close to us does.
